repair for iphone 4

Anyone have the expertise to replace an iPhone 5 screen?? I just fucked mine up.

Apple will do it for $149 in the store now.

I attempted this one on my old iphone 4 (same process on the 5) and pinched one cable putting it back together resulting in a bricked phone. Because of that I’ve been really hesitant to offer helping anyone replace theirs.

I’ve replaced a couple iphone 3G screens, as well as earlier ipod touches but they are MUCH easier than the iphone 4 and up. iphone 4 and up you remove every component from the phone through the back panel in order to get to the front screen.

Do you break phones that often? You’re paying $180 a year on insurance, so unless you break a phone more than once every 14 months, you’re better off NOT having that.

I, for example, have only broken one screen in 10 years, and it was so minimal I didn’t bother fixing it.

I have a 4S and the top button stopped working for me. Been this way for a few months now and I never thought about getting it fixed until now…anyone else have this problem and get if fixed? I am outside my 1 year warranty.

Figured I would update what I have found as far as local repairs in case anyone is in the same boat. Bottom line, spend the money and buy a good case!

To repair a screen on a iPhone 5, Apple store charges $220

Replacement through my carrier (AT&T) is $200

CPR (Cell Phone Repair) on the boulevard wants $150

I tried some Mac store at Eastern Hills and they don’t service the phones. They gave me the number for the Lifetime Service Center who were closed when I called.

Also going to try irepairbuffalo on Main st but they must be closed. Their prices look to be on the cheap side.

I had a couple offers from people I know out of state but I really don’t want to wait on the shipping and shit.

Lifetime service center $260 + tax.

Irepairbuffalo between $100 and $175 but they don’t do them for a few more weeks.

Looks like CPR is the place to go.
