So my awesome 95 Civic broke again and it’s stuck in the alumni parking lot(for the past like 3 weeks). When my friend tried to jump my car with me she put the black cable onto my battery instead of grounding it and now my car won’t start even with a jump(I think that was the cause)
Now for some reason even when trying to jump it theres no power anywhere. The battery still creates sparks but my lights don’t work, clock doesn’t work, radio doesn’t work.
Does anybody have some ideas on what might be wrong? Is there someone on here that can come take a look at it for me before I have to have it towed to a shop? I’ll compensate them.
I’m guessing it’s a small fix and with my limited expertise I can’t figure it out, fuses seem to be fine.
If I do have to have it towed does anybody have a TRUSTworthy shop they recommend that won’t charge me an insane amount of money for a tiny fix.
My friend took her car to firestone the other day and got charged 800 dollars to fix her breakline because the shop broke something else while they were under there replacing that.
i think he ment some one went pos to neg so he probably blew either the ecu or a fuse. was there smoke? I can take a look at it for you today when I get out of work. i gotta meet a friend at six at ub for dinner anyways
So I helped this kid I fixed the problem after I drove to amherst from niagara falls. Diagnosed the problem.Drove to part store to pick up fusable link he needed. Before I left the kid said he would run and get some money. I got back told him 30 bucks including the price of the 7 dollar fusable link. The kid gives me seven and assures me he would paypal me the rest. I was pretty pissed because all I was asking is for money to compensate my time.Like advertised here. any shop you would of payed 55 to hook up the tow truck and four dollars per mile. then you would pay 76 dollars for a hour labor. I was nice helped you out and you go ahead and fuck me out of 20 bucks.I could give a rats ass about the money its just principal. I went out of my way to help you and you scam me.You sir are sad.
um… can you really consider it a ‘good deed’ when you backhandedly charge a fee? or did i miss something like you offered help or he asked you specifically. I dont know. Im not trying to start shit, i understand you went out of your way to help. But if you just came out of the blue offering help, then charged someone…
thats like offering to help someone in your dorm with computer trouble because theyre inexperienced in that particular field, and then you turn around and charge a random labor fee… ‘sure man no problem, glad i could help you out, that’ll be 35.99’
he paid you for the part. stop whining and realize you did a good deed and that in and of itself is a reward.
(unless he offered you cash to do this, then he owes you haha)
Really because he asked me before I left to get the part how much.I told him will figure it out after I am sure the car is running.Do not make comments on a situation you were not there for.The fucking principal here is he told me when I went to get the part he was going to run and get some money while i was gone. I am not fucking unicef. Its principal and at this point I do not even want the kids money. I just want everyone to know that you should not help noobs off the board.
