i installed them this week…9/7 springs…
i have the dampners set to 0…
they are very smooth, no noise…make sure u lock the threads well and remove the preload before you install…otherwise it wont go lower then a 4 finger gap.
tighten all the 19mm bolts on top of the coilover before installing…
they are all loose due to the springs being changed and badly re installed.
u need a 8mm and a 19mm wrench to do this…
THIS IS A FANTASTIC SUSPENSION SETUP!!!
FAR BETTER THEN TEIN HE/HA…AND THESE MAKE NO NOISE AT ALL.
COMPARABLE TO JIC AND ZEAL… A SMOOTH YET RACE READY SUSPENSION
DO NOT GET 9/7 SPRINGS LIKE ME UNLESS U PLAN ON RACING EVERYWEEK END…7/5 IS PERFECT FOR STREET…
PEACE…
sounds good. when are we getting ours?
with the preload removed how low can you go? can you tuck the tires?
4 fingers, that is what like 2 1/2 inches?
I’m more worried with how long they’ll last.
One of the NEO guys went to Japan, and everyone seemed to think that they don’t last levey long.
I’m looking forward to this and thanks for the few tips on installation.
Yashin, what exactly didn’t last on the coilover?
Benson I would say 4 fingers is about 2" to 2.5" (depending on the hand).
As for you racing every weekend, Varun, gotta let us know when and
where. The SOLO2 stuff I wanna do is only once a month basically and I’d
like to beat on the car as much as I can this summer.
Specifics weren’t stated. But one of the members was in Japan and he asked around the large shops in the area.
He said that they(the shops) all seemed to say that the coilovers were good but couldn’t take much punishment.
I have no way of confirming or denying this, so take it for what it’s worth.
Oh, sorry here’s the post

its about 4 or 5 posts down
exactly!..
thats the question you have to ask…with high spring rates…it will kill cheap struts quick…only time will tell…
if you start to see the high spring rate guys struts start to blow out…then you know your in for trouble
So just how low can we lower our cars with the D2’s. I know slipperysilvia said they wont go lower than a 4 finger gap without the preload removed which isnt very appealing so with the preload removed how low can we get the gap?
well I am thinking that 4 fingers has to be at least the same drop as a set of sportline springs, if not even a little more.
what is the preload? and what dose it do?
Any one know what preload is?
It pre-compresses the spring by putting a load on it.
