Hey,
Well I took my d2’s and loosed them up to measure the spring length and my front springs are 8 1/8 long and my backs are 7 1/8 long. I have a 6/5-spring rate. I thought the springs were going to be all the same length no matter what the rate? I was doing the preload by compressing the spring 3/4 compressed each. I hope this is right.
Justin I don’t know what’s wrong with yours but both my front springs
and rear springs are 7" tall. Try measuring again from the top of the
flat surface on the spring to the bottom flat surface of the spring.
This is how the spring should look under pre-load conditions.
I dont konw I just put the back ones in. I am now going to do the fornt ones. The back was pice of cake, the fornt is going to be harder with the pillow mounts.
How would the pillow mounts make it any harder?
Adjusting the camber? I dont konw… well i will find out.
i was wondering about that as well,
there are no numbers on the plates, i assume the middle hash mark is neutral.
adam, what is your camber set at and can you post a pic?
Slamed the back still can get i finger in there hum i though it was going to be lower. If i make the spring tighter will it go lower? I konw it will make this stiffer but just wondering.
Got them in. Now i have weel well scrapage in the fornt. I guess if i tighten up the spring that will go away?
Aslo how did you hook up your breaklines? I used zip tie but dont like it!!
We did mikes today, just slap them on… you are going to be
adjusting them a million times anyways if you wanna have them set up
properly anyways… measure and throw on, dont get all scientific…

some pics of my install
wow!..the d2s give the car a great look. it looks great even with the 15inch rims. great work!
BAH THE WING MOUNTS! WHATS WITH THE WING MOUNTS
Wing mounts and wing will be gone in about 2months when i get the car painted.
How do I mount the break lines!!!
Well I ziptied them to the shock and they didnt like that. Now my abs light is on and abs is not working.
The brake line doesn’t have anything to do with the ABS system light. You probably did something with the sensor wire. I wouldn’t be too worried. The stock S13 ABS system is pretty crappy anyway.
Should be… but arent… just zip tie them
Well I got my D2s today (damn weather though).
Any comments on tire clearance or what I should do for fender rolling?
Bing, what did you do to your rears? You have any tire rubbing issues?
I wouldn’t want to pull another AceInHole (for those that don’t know, go
search).
Bah whats with the ABS Light on?
I installed them on a friends car and the ABS light came on.
Heres what I did, I took that random bracket thingee and bolted one
up to the top bolt, and I fed the brake like through and Ziptied it.
The pic doesn’t have the zipties on but ya…
