Rifle Guys, Boom boom bang bang.

Nice! Uspsa is a great sport.

How how long have you been shooting it?

This is my first year actually shooting “full time” I usually shoot a match every weekend. I started the year shooting revolver, and now I shoot limited.

Plate stage looked like it sucked… haha…

Good times…

Glock 17?

Yea it sucked, especially when I kept hitting that stupid black target instead of the plate and thinking I hit it and moved on a few times. I have an all steel match this weekend that I will film

Im shooting my Glock 35 in that video.

Very cool, it’s an addicting sport.

It might be the angles but:
A quick thing I noticed from your video is that your strong hand wanders away from your centerline creating a further distance for your reload to travel and come back on target.

Stand in front if a mirror and clap your hands that’s is where everything should be happening.

Also when shooting through ports stay back don’t let the gun go through the port. :t-up:

ps: all of Ben Stoegers books are awesome and really help if you can stick with some of his dry fire programs.

We’ll with that port it was pretty tricky, the shooting box was the size of your shoes, there was very little room to move around in it.

I will be picking up my first rifle in the next week or two and am looking to shoot locally, preferably outside (free). I have heard about the swamps up north and was wondering if there was anything more local to Lancaster (buddy told me some people shoot at the quarry).

Norb let me know I will go

I am starting with a basic .22 for now, will eventually grab something else but for now this will do me just fine.

The quarry location is literally 2 mins from my house but in googling it I found news stories from this past April talking about some seizures of weapons from guys that were shooting in that area, which kind of sucks. Hopefully it was an isolated incident and nothing that would stop people from enjoying it

Fuck yes, that is bad as hell! Put some rounds through it yet?

anyone ever shoot at the Lancaster quarry area?

I wouldn’t recommend shooting at the quarry, I shoot at my grandparents on stony rd and the cops are there in 5 min to check things out.

but on a different note, I just bought one of the nys legal ar15’s, its nothing like my ak, but what kind of accessories would you guys recommend

Do not go into the quarry, That is private property. I have permission to go there, and brought others there only because I work for the owner. Ever since people abused that area, had a round strike a house (twice) and DEC got involved he doesn’t want anyone in there he doesn’t know. We just put up posted signs too.

 thanks for the heads up.

New toys, because fuck you Cuomo.

I got this thing for a steal. I’ve been looking for quite a while now, BGC came through. I ended out the door with a few 10rd mags, optics and few hundred rounds for less than what Cabellas wanted for one brand new.

(Ruger Mini-14, btw)
@Freek @Willybeen @Tim

Nice. I love my mini 14… Great gun. Boo to 10 Rd mags

cabellas sells the mini 14 conversion kit for these to make them a tactical weapon, then head to field and stream for the big clips

Not sure just how many of you are interested but the wnyppl will be having a uspsa all classifier match later in sept. It’s a great way to get classified and see just where you stand skill level wise. I can post up more details if you like.

I’m interested Brad, what are the courses like? Is there movement, or do you remain stationary? Draw or ready to fire? Reloads involved? I’d like to know what I need to work on prior to the event.

Classifiers are semi stationary. Regular stages and matches have lots of movement.

Steps you should take
1 join uspsa
2 get a good holster (I’ll send you recommendations)
3 get 5 good mag holsters (and 5 mags to fill them)
4 a good belt is great but it can be done with a reg belt

Mark I would recommend coming out to one of the matches at brooks first then doing the classifier match later in the month.
