My poor guns haven’t been shot in probably 10 years. I’m thinking it’s high time to sneak a gun safe into the house when my wife isn’t looking and rescue my guns from my parents’ house and get back into shooting.
It looks like there’s a rod & gun club on Grand Island where I could try trap shooting, but they don’t seem to have a rifle range. Where can I shoot paper targets around here?
There is an awesome place in Royalton right past akron, that is setup by the town right off the side of the road. You just pull off and they have a handful of berms set up to shoot toward. Completely free, completely safe and doesn’t bother anyone. Im sure there are people here that could supply more info on the exact location, but I’ll see if i can find it on google maps.
Remington 870 Express 12ga pump and my great grandfather’s Remington .22 bolt action rifle. One for hunting, one for plinking on the cheap.
If I actually manage to get a gun safe into the house without getting divorced :lolno: then I’ll be working on my piston permit and then a Colt Cadet 0.22 semi auto pistol. Again for plinking on the cheap.

Thanks dude.
Where in the refuge do you usually go hunting/shooting?
Yeah I’ve got a different philosophy. I would want the wife and kids (if/when we have them) to know exactly where the gun safe is and what’s in it and that they are under no uncertain circumstances to touch it without my supervision.
Don’t get me wrong I understand where you guys are coming from, just different philosophy.
I agree. Once a kid pops out this has to change, but for the moment the ammo is in a safe and the gun is not. A safe for ammo is cheaper than a big ass gun safe.
I’m always down for shooting! I have a spot in the Lancaster area that I can go to, but I have permission, I could probably get away with bringing 1 or 2 people down, but not really more than that. That spot in Akron sounds good, but can someone pinpoint an area on that map?
It’s hard to see but there is a red circle in the middle. Anyone out there will know where it is. It’s a popular place to go. There will be no less then 20 other people there on a weekend day. Good luck even finding a spot the week before deer season.

Follow Fisk Rd. East till you hit the end. Take a right then a quick left. On your righthand side you will see burms and most likely people will be there shooting. Keep going until you find an open spot. Enjoy.
Perfectly legal to shoot there from sunrise till sundown.
I know other members go there often. Maybe one of them will chime in.
Fry it’s OT to your question but I meant to arrange a shooting/drinking/grilling/4wheeling/causing ruckus in the townie bars weekend at my cabin last year with the sterling crew among others, and never got around to it. It will be happening within the next couple months. Sounds like something you’d be interested in.
A few of the crew and I (JnJ, Jt76, firehawk… etc.) get together at my Dad’s property in Otto for some shooting and grilling. maybe we could do a mini NYSPEED shootout. Last year between 6 of us we fired around 2500 rounds and had a good time.
