Fast & Furious driver tries to run over cop, now in hiding
A 25-year-old Fairport man is in hiding right now after police say he tried to run over a police officer. Macedon Police are looking for Erik Holtz. They say Holtz was clocked going 100mph through Macedon Saturday night. He led police on three high speed chases before disappearing. All three times, police called off their pursuit because of the high speeds.
At one point, police say they tracked Holtz to a cul-de-sac in Gananda. Macedon Police Chief John Colella says Holtz sped away, aiming his car at the officer. A witness told said Holtz missed the officer “by inches.”
Chief Colella said his officer feared for his life and was justified to use deadly force but didn’t shoot because there was a 17-year-old girl in the passenger seat.
Holtz was last scene in Marion where he dropped off his passenger. Police believe someone is hiding him. They’re asking anyone who knows where Holtz is to come forward.
He is facing a litany of charges including attempted aggravated assault of a police officer.
“Holtz was last scene in Marion where he dropped off his passenger. Police believe someone is hiding him. They’re asking anyone who knows where Holtz is to come forward.”
“The driver then drove his car in reverse and struck another vehicle. The drover then stopped, accelerated and drove directly at the Police Officer in a further attempt to get away. The Officer jumped out of the path of the vehicle to avoid being struck. The suspect then drove across four lawns as he attempted to evade police. As the suspect was exited Sherwood Drive he nearly missed striking a Wayne County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle due to the fact he was sliding sideways around the intersection.”
Staying true to oneself. Also lmao at “drover”.
Yeah, things like “drover” in the official police press release make me start to doubt the truthfulness about how the kid tried to run down the cop. Yeah, he ran, but you have to wonder if he really “aimed his car at the officer while the officer dove out of the way”.
That and I generally find that the smaller the town the more corrupt the police force. 7 officers, a sergeant and a clerk make up the whole police force.
