fuck that. After i get the check, ill probablycut off all communication. Either that or send him a link saying its a link to the copy of the wire transfer of the $5000 to him, but then have it link to that site with all the stories of scammers being messed with… make him think he’s got it in the bag. Plus im sure they either have to put a good bit of time of money into making the nice countierfiet checks that they use…
:bowrofl: Fuckem as hard as you can!!! I had a guy try to scam me for a turbo kit about a year ago. Wanted me to wire him $1,000.00 over seas, for the kit that was worth about $6,000.00(to good to be true). So I told him why don’t we use escrow, so we are both protected. And I would be glad to pic up the fees. Needless to say he didn’t go for it.
take the check to the bank, see them about cashing it. if not report to the police(internet police). email him back and say if you recieve a check for anything over the amount you will accept it as a gift.wait for response
I had something similar happen recently too. I was looking into used Buell Firebolts on cycletrader and came up on a ridiculously good deal on a XB9R that was in Iowa. I emailed the guy expressing right of the bat my suspicions. I got a reply that the bike was indeed in perfect shape but it’d be sent from the Netherlands or some shit now, instead of Iowa. :bs: Needless to say I didn’t go after that one.
