I only have usally 10 min to type stuff when i get home cause i have to jobs so thats why i dont give two shits.

Ok i have 2 huge problem with my 240sx ( its a 95 with a ka non turbo )

1: My rpm on my gauge cluster stop working about 5 months ago for reasons that i had no control over. i really didnt care cause my car is an auto ( for now ). Now about 4 days ago i noticed that my pioneer indash dvd untit which has a mini computer in it which shows stats like kph. mrp. volts. slope bla bla bla stop showing the rpm and the rpm sits at about 600- 800 and doesnt move higher then that, the rest of the stats work fine so…I 1st thought my gauge cluster was toast or at least the rpm part but now that the pioneer unit isnt showing any of my rpm i thinking there is something else wrong with my car. thats were u guys come in how does the car know the rpm of the engine? is there a sensor or something and could this be my problem?

2nd: my car is sucking the gas hard!!! god dam i filled up 4 days ago and did medium level driving and i emptyed a tank. when i 1st got the car i could go almost 2 weeks on 1 tank now 4 days!!! wtf the only real mod i did was a short ram intake with a k&n air filter i changed the fuel filter 1 month ago and the oil at the same time. spark plugs 2 months ago and thats about it. i will be changing the 2 o2 sensors this friday but i need other ideas what it could be if u guys could give me some that would be cool.

would getting my car tuned help?

would they be able to go into the computer and see what is wrong with it and tell me what i can do to fix it . + every once in a while my check engine light comes on for like 100- 200Km then goes away the car fells slugish, but last time i took it in to get the light check the told me there was no problem with the engine and took my 84$ those bastards

I need ideas cuase i dont want to take it in to west side nissan so i can get a 400$ repair bil,l i would rather spend that money on a sr and a manual transmission

My dads 98 gtp gets better gas milage then my and that thing is super charged.
I know i know all noob questions but i do know a bit about cars and i am learning so u got to start some where right

Ps:

I Would like to get a sr20det, manual trany, harness, ecu and turbo so if u know of a place of one let me know please thanks

If you only give two shits, why should we give you one???

The tach is driven off of the distributer. However i doubt changing it will help Check your wirring and where they spliced this pioneer unit in

It could be many things. O2 sensors are a good place to start but if you have a copy of a chiltons book or a FSM you can test alot of the sensors to rule everything out.

tuned with what?? your car is stock. Short answear NO

Maybe you should purchase a code reader from a place like partsource or learn how to read a check engine light. Nissan 240sx Frequently Asked Questions click on, ECM reading trouble codes DOHC

What are you going to do when the SR breaks. Trust me shit happens and it will happen quicker with a more powerful motor in the car.

Check out our sponsors. Autodream has posted some for sale, so has Garage S13

I would go back to who ever scanned your car. Usually (im not too familiar with the KA) the ECU will store codes that have come up in the past and now have gone away. The ECU should also tell you how many times that code has been triggered. Now keep in mind this is what is normal for most ECU’s i don’t know about the KA ECU though. Hope that helps…
