So on a whim I bought an RV today. I have two young children and I think that it will be good to have a second home to get away for the weekends. Now I need a place to drop it. We are looking to be within 45 minutes or so south of buffalo and the place needs to be daily friendly. I have a pretty large family so places that only allow 4 adults are no go. I am cool with paying for people overnight. Also I am looking at golf carts so I would like a place that allows those as well. Anyone on here have experience /recommendations on a good parks?
Oh, also we don’t want to be stacked in like sardines so a spacious place is preferred.
Jellystone, really good for kids under 18. Had a water park and daily activities.
Woodstream, good for kids but not as many activities as jellystone. Had a sweet trout stream that runs right though the park and also deep enough to take a tube and float down it.
Tripple R, not sure what they offer just throwing it out there bc i was there today helping the GF’s parents set up there camper. Last year they were at woodstream and left bc her brother left also. They would of stayed there if they were both staying.
Been to both (as an honorary camper). Jellystone is nice and more to do for kids, but felt like it was a little tight. Triple R is a little more spacious, but less of the “amusement park” feel. Has a nice pool and got some nice hilly terrain. Don’t rent their cabins (tool sheds) if you can avoid it, trust me.
Jellystone is really good for the kids with a wate rpark and you can really let them play and not worry about who’s at the campground with. (mostly kid oriented)
Colden Lakes is really good too if you decided to park it and leave it for the summer. I had a lot of customers who did that. Nothing better than being able to just head out, open your awning and drink beer.
Niagara Lazy Lakes is very popular, Triple R as already mentioned, Sleepy Hollow, Allegheny is really fun, but be aware that their sites are only 15 amp (you need 30 to run AC)
Jellystone does not have what I need as far as seasonal otherwise it would be a good option for a couple years from now. I think the kids are too young to enjoy most of the activities there yet.
Woodstream looks OK, I will have to see it and talk to someone before drawing a conclusion on it.
Triple R is on my short list already. I am planning on driving down there in the next day or so and meeting the management.
Thanks!
 Thanks. Anywhere else that you have been and liked?
It is a state park and I would not be able to keep the trailer there year round. I don’t have easy access to a large truck to tow this thing so unfortunately it is out for this year.
I believe this is the same as above.
My biggest issue is that I don’t own a truck capable of towing this today. I may buy one this weekend but as of today I do not have it so the facility will need to support the rv being on site 365.

I looked at Colden Lakes and I have a few concerns to talk to them about, one being their waiting list lol.
I have not looked at Niagara lakes, but I will now. Thanks for the suggestions. I was actually going to call you before I pulled the trigger but I think that the deal was good enough. I bought it from Ryan Nightingale at Colton.
Most places prefer that you stay on site for 365. I know Colden Lakes does anyways…I sold a ton of campers in that place and to this day I can still drive through and point out everyone that was mine. You will find that a lot of places offer you to stay on site.
HAHA good old Ryan. You should have told me, I used to work with him. He is a great guy. Gotta make sure you stay on hi, he is somewhat forgetful. You should have called me, my brother is still the Sales manager at BuffaloRV.
Triple R officially opens Thursday. I’m about 1/2 way up the hill going up the right side. Place looks nice from helping set up yeasterday. Wish I knew more about it for ya. But hey if you decide with it let me know what camper is yours. Always nice to know a fellow speeder is around.
We do, Jelly stone, Triple R, camp Chautauqua, Allegheny state park, and some years wildwood acres in Chautauqua.
We are going to Triple R for a week in July
I’m not sure what the attraction for seasonals is there though…
If I were to plant a camper, it would be in Chetauqua, or near a lake.
Yes first season there. Well its the wifes parents. But i do and relax at there camp ground every second i get in the summer with he kid and wife. Last year they were at Woodstream and wish they didnt leave. But from going there the other day to help clean and open up there Rv place looked nice.
My friend’s parents used to be at woodstream before they bought their own land somewhere. We went a few times and it was always a good experience. Even camped in a tent there a few times as well.
Se we looked at Colden Lakes and Mountain Meadows as they were within our 45min max drive time for this year (young kids). Colden Lakes was smaller and would have made a great place if I was older and didn’t have the kids. In the end Mountain Meadows is local, had lots of activities, had rules but they are pretty lax and work well for us, and the sites were pretty large and surrounded by woods. I will be in a semi private site this year and on a waiting list for a nicer site that is really private next year.
Thanks for all of the suggestions, hopefully I will get a chance to be mobile in a couple years and get to spend a weekend or week at a lot of the other places.
I will be staying a be job much more travel and will probably be looking into similar to dump off my little hybrid camper so the fam can make the most of the summer.
