looks great tom! lemme know if there is anything I can do to help.
that tunnel needs bracing before you hang the trans from it, and honestly it should have been braced before the mounting plates were welded in. I would brace the tunnel before you build the trans mount. especially since you cut out the factory bracing for the floor.
Interested to see what you will do with rear subframe/diff mounting.
Hey,
I’ve been busy working on other things but I’ve still managed to keep on moving forward with this project.
I mounted the motor and after I realized that I can not use the civics front suspension and need to use the front suspension of the 240.
I had to move the motor back for the right wheel fitment under the civics front fenders. I had to cut a even bigger hole in the firewall.

I cut the top of the strut towers out to fit the 240’s strut through. I welded in some temporary brackets to hold the struts so I can see how the car will sit.

After I got my shock hieght and caster angle I started to build a strut tower using the first brackets as a skeleton to weld my steel to. Later I cut the skeletons out after I finished building my new strut towers.

not bad keep it up!
Subscribed. Curious to see the final product. This looks awesome!
man you REALLY should be bracing this chassis. It’s going to be so fucked when its done if you don’t.
This is awesome! Going to be a riot to drive!
You get the idea from the youtube video with this swap?
You by chance have the front fender side markers off the old 240 laying around?
I can’t wait for this to be done
I got the idea from a ae86 with a s2000 motor that I saw last time I went drifting. I think I do have the side markers

Your going to tell me to trash the project when you see what I cutout next without bracing.lol
LMK for sure. I’ll buy them!
I know a guy from Roc with a ae86 with a s2000 motor! It’s a sweet swap!
andddd this video.
cool shit. go for it.
I hope this picture is crooked, not the drive train:
in for finished pics though. I love sr20 swaps.
THE MOTOR WAS HANGING ON THE CHERRY PICKER
…AN DEN??? I want to see more of this

Will be waiting for this to be completed, this is one hell of an ambitious build.
