RWD in the winter

Well probably not a VR-4. Parents want me to get something new-ish. I just need something more practical for college. I’ll most likely be posting a for sale ad in the next couple months.

:wow omfg.

gas < fun

I drive my car all year round and it’s rear drive. With the hardtop on and 185/65 14" winter tires it does pretty well, despite being lower than most other cars around. I haven’t gotten stuck, and this was including days with several inches of snow on the ground that I had to drive home in.

I was going slow, yes, but I was going, stopping, turning with grip and got home safely those days…

Only thing I don’t like with the snow tires is they’re loud, but I have cheap a$$ tires (Cooper brand, bought the set on Craigslist for $40)

never driven a RWD car in the snow, but i drive FWD and pull the e-brake everywhere, if that counts… drifting in the winter is what makes delivering worth while. :lol

if you put snows on it, you’ll be fine…

mafdark…how much for the bronco? info on it??

I’d like to hear more on the Bronco, too.

Trade?

Bronco is getting some stuff fixed up then you can buy it for 3k. 33" tires, body lift, new windshield, new tires, new replacement engine with 42kmi. Has some rust as expected for an 86. Runs great.

Ive driven my mustangs in the snow since i was 16, last year i drove the Mach 1 with bald 17" Drag Radials :lol, its not that bad once ya get used to it. I wouldnt try going out in a 12" storm or anything though…

I drove my lexus in a few snow storm. Car was never straight even with feathering the throttle.

It looks like after the new 2 row radiator is installed, the Z will be going up for sale. I’ve got my eye on the Audi TT, Lancer Evo 8-9 and '05 STi.

rwd is tons of fun in the snow. used to drive my 3 series in the snow with studded snows, then drove my 5 series on next to bald touring tires. like i said, a shitload of fun!!! ;D

exactly how bad is it on gas? lol
i may have to take you up on that offer…i’ve always liked broncos

10-13 mpg although its tough to be exact with the oversized tires.

Hell nor high water can stop it. In the winter I aim for the snow banks. :lol

Gas prices own you :lol j/k

Just buy my z

:nod

That’s exactly why the truck just sits there lol. Unless something needs to be trailered/towed.

Do you own a junkyard or is it just parked by one?

wtf? i have never seen a f250-350 like that.

i always leave my truck in rwd in the snow unless im stuck. even with the 20/55/315 terra grapplers it does great in the snow, alot better then the smaller narrow stock tires.

I used to love taking the gsx out in the winter just for fun though

Its a Centurian conversion Bronco. Ive seen a few of them before.

Wow. Kudos to PBJ for recognizing it. Although it’s the Centurian F350 powerstroke conversion. I’ve only seen one other person on the road and it’s a weekender from NJ that has the Bronco conversion.

At the time the pic was taken, we were at a boneyard getting parts.
