from experience even with really really good winter tires i wouldnt drive rwd in the winter anymore.
my dad has a cadillac xlr and i used to drive that a year ago before i got the acura and bmw and that thing in the winter SUCKED. i slid out everytime even when there was like an inch of snow on the ground but also no matter what way i go when i leave my house there is a gigantic hill
that hill going into HV sucks. ive seen numerous cars slide backwards on that in the winter. getting a very aggressive thread with studs on rears will be a HUGE help.
I drove my first 240 to HVCC in the winter. It was a pain, but I was running crappy all-seasons. If I had a good set of studded snows I would of been fine. I would never try and go up the big hill if it was bad, I just went around on a different road. That whole winter I never slid off the road either, I just had a small shovel and bag of salt in the trunk to clear icy/snowy areas when I got stuck. It was really fun to drive in parking lots though :banana
The boyfriend and I saw a maroon one at Walmart in Clifton Park a few months back. He couldn’t stop making this face :wow and saying “what IS IT!?”
But back on topic, I drove the Supra in the snow with bald ass tires and she would make it just fine. I just got sick of having to feather the gas everywhere and be so easy on her. That’s when I started hitchin’ a ride to school. :lol
yea, i dont understand why every college kid trys cramming into the right lane to go up that hill when they could just go past hess and go right up the hill, idiots
I stopped using that hill after my first year.
Not 'cause of the winter, but just 'cause of every douche bag that rides your bumper regardless of how many polite roll backs you give them suggesting “Hey… I have a stick… maybe don’t get that close…”
youre not looking hard enough, or it’s a girl driving stick (:haha) or it’s a terrible/new driver.
It’s impossible not to have a tiny amoutn of roll-back unless you use the ebrake or something gay like that, on a steep hill it’s hard not to roll back an inch or so.
they do that to me on my bike all the time. Anyone ever notice the number of rice there at night? I have night class at 530-930 and they are everywhere
my cars got this thing in it so when your on a hill the brake engages for 5 seconds or until your engaged in 1st gear (whichever comes first lol). its pretty useful when it comes to steep ass hills and YESS im looking forward to that huge ass hill this winter for my first year at hvcc
I heel-toe like a mofo. especially in the Troylet. No one gives me room to roll back. There is always some idiot up my ass when I got a loaded truck stopped on a hill. thank god for posi-trac lol
