S2000 guys, step inside

So for most of us s2k owners, it’s almost that time of year again to pull the car out of the garage and get her ready for the season.

Being that it’s about that time, I figured I’d start this and get some ideas or comments on what everyone does with the car to get it ready.

To start off the season this year, I’m looking at doing a couple things:

-Differential fluid
-Spark plugs
-Air filter
-Cabin filter
-Transmission Fluid
-Oil change (changed it about 50-100 miles before putting the car away)

What are you expecting to do to the car when you pull it out of storage. For those that have access to the car all winter long, what have you been up to?

I figured since we have so many s2k guys now, we can have a devoted thread if there isn’t already one.

s2k owners and the cars you can spot:

I’m not cool enough for this thread but why change the oil? I understand the other ones and actually plan I doing those myself, but if you just changed the oil last season it doesn’t go bad lol.

Oh but it does need to be changed after a certain time period, regardless of mileage.

^ +1. If the oil was “used” by being ran and then sat for 6 months I’d change it.

I plan to do all those and also give it a full detail inside and out.
I would love to tell you my other plans are boost…but that wont happen any time soon/at all.
I have thought about selling the rims and going a different route, but im not 100% sold on the idea
A photo shoot is also in the making =)

I’d like to just give it a good run for a week or two to get what ever might have settled to break up, then drain and be fresh. I figured it would be more of a Cleaning for the engine. A nice flush with good fluids instead of waiting for a full change.

Anyways, anyone up for a meet and clean/wrench day?

Acutally, you want to do the opposite. Drain now. Put in new fluid and your good.

You only need a “double flush” it the motor sat for 20 years with the intake off.

if anybody sees a nice S2K for sale, I’m looking for one.

Turboed one on this site, unless he sold it.

Pull it out of the garage, do burnouts and call it a day.

lol this

I’m already planning to be a Honda boy the day I get it. Let the car sit and warm up for a good 10 min, then hope in and we-tec it down the road.

so how many actually s2000 owners are here?

I will have one for sale in a few weeks, once the salt goes away. PM for more info.

I know of 6 right of the top of my head.

oneslowdsm - if he didn’t sell his yet - he dropped a turbo in.
maksim2000 - Guess hes selling his.

I also know of another local by the name of Bryan, I think hes on here as well but I don’t know his username. He owns a red one.

Bryan spends most of his time on his bike now…

Im hoping to have a S2k by the Letchworth cruise

PM’d

i guess u can add me to that list

Believe it when I see it.

I’ll update my first post if anyone wants me to show who ones one so we know who we can look back and talk with on the cars.
