S2000 guys, step inside

boy racer syndrome

anytime a car hold desirability people with the beaters will try for top dollar, I don’t know if I can blame them since they’ll likely get it on these cars.

That is the thing a lot of these people I have hit up have had the car for sale for months…It’s not selling for a reason even though you think its “an amazing deal”

its probably they dont know how to sell theme cus s2ks sell quick and there value is going up

bump if anyone looking for any s2k parts let me know i have few s2ks that im parting out

Has anyone replaced the clutch on these cars? If so, what parts did you go with and where did you get them. I feel the Honda dealer will be a complete ripoff being that just in parts I’ll be looking at $1230 before tax, no labor.

^ why not just buy new aftermarket factory replacement stuff, like Sachs or Luk, and pay someone/do it yourself? Has to be a cakewalk on these.

Anyone have a set of nice S2000 seats for sale?

I would really love to do the clutch myself but I do not have a lift and I have never replace a clutch in my life. From what I hear, the engine mounts need to be loosened to tilt the motor when removing or dropping the trans.
I’d love to find someone that would teach me in which I would pay them something. So if you know anyone or if anyone is willing to teach me while working together, I would gladly pay an agreed amount.

As for aftermarket, I am not sure what is good and what is not being I’ve never replaced a clutch before. I’ve heard the OEM throw bearings are best as well as clutch plate. I was looking at an ACT Prolite flywheel.

Pick out a flywheel and clutch combo you like and I’ll give you a price on full replacement. I would rather not teach lol, it will take 3x as long as just jamming through and focusing on what I’m doing.

Thank you for the offer! If you dont mind, please PM me when you have a moment with what you’d be looking for and your availability with doing this. I’ll start seeing what parts I’d go with.

I replaced my clutch last year. Make sure to use a new OEM throw out bearing. No need to replace the flywheel. AP1 fly wheels are lighter then AP2’s. Watch out for aftermarket disks and plates. Some are garbage. I also replaced a few other things while i was in there. Not a hard job but time consuming. I did mine in a garage on jack stands. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Looking for suggestions. I have not put any mods on the S2k to which I’ve gained HP. I may not put any mods on the car for HP. With that said, I am doing the clutch and looking for input on the flywheel. Stock ap1 Flywheel is roughly 14-15lbs. I got a suggestion from a parts supplier to go with the Competition ultra light weight flywheel which is roughly 8-9lbs. Resurfacing a flywheel is roughly $60-70 and the Competition flywheel is $230.

Has anyone gone with a lighter flywheel with stock hp? If so, what did you notice positive and negative?

Would it be smarter since the car is more of DD street car than anything else to just go with the stock Flywheel and have it resurfaced?

I’m sure u guys seen this but from last weeks cruise with some local s2ks
