S2000 guys, step inside

I have to disagree. Yes driving the S2K as much as possible is always a win…but not taking care of it is dumb. It’s not like this is some geo metro. The rims are shot, it probably hasnt seen soap let alone wax in years because its always dirty and its sits outside most of the times I drive by. You you want a DD not to care about, snag an accord or civic. The S2000 may not be some high end European dream machine, but it is a classic car that is no longer made and should be treated properly…just my .02

Yea the guy near quickfill.
I would love to buy that car on the cheap and fully restore it

That guy driving it all year is doing it right, I would do the same thing…

i could find 10 million other cars to drive during the winter rather than a convertible that you have absolutely no room for anything in, is impossible to wear snow boots while driving, and just sucks all around in general.

I would love to drive it 24/7…but…take care of the damn car

Skurge, he needs to take that damn Plistic dip off and actually repaint it. He’s got talks of getting an FR-S, then pulling it off the road to do body work and engine work. Probably take it off the road for a couple years.

In for photos.

I’ve talked with him before. He drives the car all winter long and enjoys it.

Some people don’t care to take care of the car as much as you expect. Also being how thin of metal these cars have, the amount of salt… just washing it will get some of it off, but the cracks and lips on the panels collect it and start the corrosion process. The guys is awesome for driving it all year and I give him major props. He isn’t like everyone else… he bought the car to drive it. You cant hate on that. Why clean a car? So others can enjoy how it looks… its how you feel about how it looks. Some people don’t care if its got dirt or not, its just going to get dirty either way.

Yea im not hating on it, I just dont get it.
I dont wash my car so others think its nice, I dont care how others feel about it. I wash it to protect it from getting ruined so I can keep it longer…thats all

here is the HT

HAVE YOU CHECKED S2KI DEEBO? LAST I CHECKED (1 YR AGO) THERE WAS A PAGE WITH PEOPLE GIVING THEIR .02 ON THE REP. OEM TOPS

nothing says summer like putting a hard top on your convertible.

BAM!!! Exactly how I feel. You buy a convertible for a reason, enjoy it and put the money towards the power instead.

Why are you obsessed with driving them all year round?

I swapped my Formula with a buddies S2000 for a week during summer and the S2K was easy to get loose wet roads with decent tires.

Screw putting snow tires on a low ass rwd car in buffalo winters.

if you can afford an S2000, you should be also to afford something else to drive in the snow.

S2000’s are pretty darn affordable now a days. I see no problem in driving one all year with a good set of snow tires.

I also know where that guy lives and he has a siqqqqqqq Transmaro Bird SS in the driveway of a nice home. I doubt he’s hurting for cash I’m just sure he doesn’t give a fuck.

I think I saw this the other day on Tonawanda Creek. It was super clean.

If you’ve ever owned a convertible soft top you would know what a pita it is to wipe snow off of the top. You have to worry about damaging it Along with the window itself. They are pretty impractical cars for winter and DD’ing in general. As LZ said they are sketchy in the rain and any sort of weather driving especially AP1s. Most Ppl don’t drive miatas year round and they are half the cost. Its not a “omg s2000’s are soooo siqqq they shouldnt be driven in the snow” thing its the fact that there are much better cars for DD purposes .
Mine isn’t even that nice I would still never drive it thru a winter. Brad only did for like a month (when we had no snow lol) because he totaled his winter car.

And that dudes house is def not nice lol
