Granted the guy in the video is carving it up but if someone is doing this to try to injure bikers…
For the second time in the last month someone has purposefully dumped gallons of oil on several corners of Glendora Mountain Road. GMR is a popular destination for Southern California car enthusiasts, motorcyclists and bicyclists. It also happens to be the local road I drive. The most recent incident happened Sunday, March 8th and this time their might be a lead on who is endangering the lives of anyone who uses GMR.
As a result of this CHP and the forest service have closed the road to clean up the spills to prevent accidents and environmental damage. The previous spill is reported to have caused at least two minor accidents.
I understand getting sick of people treating a road like their own personal racktrack but that’s not how to deal with it. My guess is the police already know who’s doing this because the guy probably started out making lots and lots of complaints that the police ignored. I really doubt his first plan was to start dumping oil on corners.
Were there only in one spot I could maybe explain it away as an accident but I’ve photographed six separate spills, all carefully positioned to create a danger, either in the braking zone before a corner or in the corner itself.
Beyond placement there is further evidence of foul play. The oil is a light grade and is very clean - too clean to have come from an engine or transmission and too copious to have come from faulty brakes.
