thats a shame i saw it on the news this morning.
thats sad Im sorry to hear…
Very sad.
Sorry for his young children & family…
x2.
I had to jack the Miata up yesterday, and I put 5 jackstands under the car. Two actually supporting the weight, and three others in place if anything were to fail. I’ve got to say, I’ve been shaken a bit by this and the Syclone owner.
:sadwavey:
x2. I need to change the oil in the Suburban and this has me all freaked out.
So the latest info i received is the Car was actually a beater he was repairing for his own personal use.
Turns out his father drove past the garage early in the morning on his way to church, and seen him in there but did not stop to say hi, then when he returned a few hours later Zeb was still in there, Zeb was the youngest of 3 sons, and was found by his next older brother Jesse, when jesse went down to check on him.
I drove past the garage today to see his blazer still sitting in front of it, and just got the strangest feeling.
I still have yet to find out any funeral arrangements and such, so if any of ya’ll hear or notice anything lmk.
Okay, newest update,
Just Spoke with Zebs now widowed wife
the car he was working on was purchased for repair and to be sold, along with 2 others.
Plans were to buy these 3, fix em, sell em.
Also among our conversation i found out that Zebs Son (Zeb also), is 16 months old, and BJ (Zebs Wife is now 3 months along with their 2nd child.)
Zeb was a AAA tow truck driver, so the monies from the other cars were to help out the finances for the family.
the Story as it was explained to me is that the car was placed on 2 separate jacks 2 weeks before this accident, and never repositioned or moved, he had just completed the installation of the motor and was connecting hoses when the car fell on him, Death certificate reads blunt force trauma to the head, (Left temple)
Autopsy reveals that his passing was very quick, and should be considered as painless as far as they were concerned.
also at most they estimate no more than an hour passing between the time of the accident and the time of discovery.
WOW! Such a sad story man. once again…mt condolences
the simplest precautions…when not taken…result with the biggest problems…that really sucks i hope the family is doing ok along with you seeing that you knew him for a while. I get scared just changing my oil…makes you think twice about wanting to service your own vehicle
Wow very sad…
I always try to use the jack stands, jack, and tires under the rockers idea too.
I cant believe how many people I see using those tin “steel” ramps without anything else under a car. I seen my dad slip a car off of those on time, he was ok, but I have never trusted them since. I won’t even own a set…
What a horrible tradgedy.
DAMN! I remeber seeing this thread but didn’t realize who it was. I just called my buddy to chat about an old friend (Shane Stringer) dieing last night in a motorcycle accident and said Zeb died when a car fell on him. Both of these guys were whole hearted enthusiasts. RIP fellas - you will be missed!
