SI01 warned spoke of this guy. He had me dying. Northtown subaru has their fair share of characters coming in there. If you get a moment ask him about the gu who wanted to trad his “art” for a car.
I wish I wasn’t so familiar with Sammy, but alas, he comes into Northtown Subaru several times a week. Sometimes in his F-bod, sometimes in the STi, always without all his fucking marbles.
This guy is shot.
He has single handedly made me buy into the concept of a split personality. The first time I met him about a year and a half ago he introduced himself as Sammy West, and despite his bizarre appearance (zubaz Bills shorts and what looked like a Losman jersey with Van Halen on the back) he seemed nice enough.
Then he came back in three or four days later, screaming his way both in and out the front door of the dealership. The salesman he bought his STi from explained to me that when he was reserved, I was speaking to Sammy West. When he is in rockstar mode, Sammy Van Halen is in charge.
With all his shit being in the news and on 103.3 lately (and the way he acts in the dealership all the time now) it appears that Sammy Van Halen has moved in full time.
That motherfucker IS a serial killer.
If it hasn’t happened already, it’s only a matter of time.
So what has the guy done to be able to own an STI and a Firebird and not work, and go around town harrassing people?
As I understand it, he put in a few decades with the Postal Service before cracking.
He recently went back to work part time, but he received STUPID benefits while he was off, plus he still lives with his parents.
No other bills = lots of fast cars.
Last time I saw him he said he’s shopping Vipers:bloated:

i can add to it, he wouldnt leave the dealership one day and was signing autographs for everyone. As he was signing autographs for the “many fans lined up” which was really 5 employees who couldnt get away from him quick enough, he starts talking to the one guy at work in 3rd person and then recalling events from the “94 and 95 tours” the guy i work with had him going as if van halen was part of the band and he was actually there watching the performance.
i have the luxury of living in the falls and i know a ton of people who have encountered this local wackjob. My friend lives kiddie-corner to van halen and he said the cars are always parked in the yard, left wide open and tunes cranked
enjoy.
Also, a few weeks ago he GAVE two or three official Sabres jerseys (not the replicas, the ones with the damn fightstraps) to some of the service writers.
A Drury shirt, for example, with the C where it should be, but also with VH on the other side of the chest, and Van Halen for the name on the back.

No guys you don’t know what you are asking. I have known this guy for years. He is somehow related to the davis family, Don Davis Autoworld. So benes rack up. I would stay away from this dude. He’s much more harmless from a distance.

fawk I have seen this guy…he’s fawkn crazy and stuck in the 80’s.
He used to have a older beat to shit 3rd gen firebird too. Was identical to the one he has now just faded and rusted. Had to be his car from high school. My friend bought it for parts.
I had an autograph from him too. I think I tossed it out the window. It was definitely forced upon me.

So I was at Keyser Cadillac yest getting my car tuned up and around noon or so I see this Blue STI rolling by in front of the showroom. Im like thats a cool car but WTF is with the stickers?
About 5 mins later a rocker comes in with a Bills VAN HALEN jersey and matching black shorts with red stripes on them and a matching cap.
So he proceeds to get himself some coffee, then talks to the salesman about the $100,000 XLR-V in the showroom and how he wants it…Im just sitting there LMAO
Im like WHO THE FUCK IS THIS DUFUS…Then 5 mins later hes gone. I was gonna say nice car to him, but he made a pretty quick exit.
Now Im glad that I didnt say a word to him after reading all the above :biglaugh:
