Well I’ve had this car for almost 2 months now so I figured I would finally get some pictures up
car is 2006 Evolution MR
mods:
Monster Sports Hood
Monster Sports CF intake
Monster Sports upper/lower charge pipes
Sun Ignition
Buschur Racing ported/coated ex manifold
Buschur Racing ported ex housing
Works 3" O2 housing
Works 3" downpipe
Works 3" Exhale exhaust
HKX EVC VI boost controller
Aem Wideband
Pioneer in dash dvd/navi
im loving every bit of it except the gas mileage and the turning radius
i hear so many people say “blah blah blah, its an evo its not meant for gas mileage blah blah blah” but the fact is that its a 2.0L motor and 20mpg is unacceptable to me
thats why my next mods will have to do with improving fuel efficiency as well as power at the same time

i will be the first to admit the wheels arent the prettiest, but for a 17 they are pretty damn light and im sure as hell not going to add weight just for “looks”
Very nice car I would of killed for a GG when I bought my evo but just couldn’t find what I was lookin for so I got a LY insted. Like the mods and what not. Who tuned it.And dump that thing lol wheels will look fine with a good drop.
well i do plan to actively autocross it this year, and i actually have 2 sets of these wheels lol, one set came on the car with re01r’s that i will be using for summer and i bought the current set used with winter wheels for $400 lol
plans for fuel economy are
speed density
id/fic 1000cc injectors
test pipe
better air filter along with the speed density conversion (means selling my Monster Sport intake setup)
TUNE which i feel is the biggest thing
lightweight driveshaft
reduce as much unsprung mass as possible
Yeah it def comes down to the tune and how you driving habits.
I get 22ish mixed highway/city. And most of the time I’m out of boost. But before I bought an Evo I knew mileage sucked for a 4cyl. But third retune soon.
i wish i could get 36mpg, im sure my cams don’t help any and it was tuned by IVEY, but who knows… it will definetely be retuned with speed density and the other mods above in the spring
my daily commute is 20 miles to work and 20 miles back… mostly 45mph but alot of lights inbetween
i can almost bet that does, today i filled up and got 18.7mpg
i was going to go with a bigger turbo just for the fact that the slower spool will help with fuel economy and not to mention the side effect of more power
