wtf are you talking about? THats an easy fix. :biglol: JB weld yO!
ugh, poor skyline
Looks like the car absorbed the impact just fine, scatter shields are so over rated.
Wow! good pics, they really show how important a sheild is.
Same thing happened to a Viper with an RPS clutch at ~8000 RPM… Pressure plate split, took the flywheel with it. Took out the engine, trans, dented frame rails, broke fuel and brake lines (no idea how there wasnt a fire) all to the tune of roughly 35 grand. The car had a ballistic blanket, probably the only reason the tuner working on it still has his legs.
This is also the reason I personally prefer Tilton. Godaweful expensive, but they are one of the only clutch companies with REAL engineers, and real solid modeling/stress modeling software. The clutches smaller diameter is also less susceptible to grenading as shown above, as the clutch is actually moving “slower” even though the RPM is the same…less centrifugal force acting on it. You get what you pay for… not a box full of metal and hope like some campanies.
holy shit!
It doesn’t matter what brand the clutch/flywheel are. Shit happens.
My dad told me a story about how he used to have a lifted dodge truck with a built 440 in it, which did the same thing. He said the flywheel split throwing metal everywhere. Some of the damaged caused destroyed his front axle, one tire, and tranny.

do you get a kickback for making a post like this?
HOLY. SHIT. it straightened the starter gear!
it looks like a bomb went off under there. I wonder what it sounds like in real life.
Damn, I’ve never seen that happen before. Dude should be thankful it took out all that shit and not his foot.
What exactly causes this to happen again?
I have only heard of this referenced once
holy crap!!
