SEAL team charged after prisoner capture

Truth. It’s sad. But war is the most brutal act of humans. Its a horrible thing. Our soldiers have enough to worry about without having to fear being reprimanded for doing their job and ensuring our safety.

I have always felt that war is historically, and should remain an abhorrent disgusting last resort. War should be conducted in such a way as to make it a terrible option for everyone involved. That way no-one will be so quick to rush back into it.

War is murder and it seems we have forgotten this.

We honestly need to just start another Crusade like back in the old school Medieval times. That would have everyone shutting the fuck up, lol.

Wow, how’d I miss this one? :io:

no, i was serious… but i just want to say that i wanted to go work in a coal mine for $1 per day be able to agree with something good by saying “Bully!” and then top it off by having my lungs rotted out by mustard gas in France

Lol nice

mustard gas is BAD shit. I used to work with chemicals that when mixed would produce a mustard gas type vapor. The tiniest bit of it would instantly burn your throat and you couldn’t breathe. Concentrated chlorine and hydrochloric acid ftl.

I don’t think being born in 1986 impedes your capability from achieving any of this. Go nuts.

lol that went a mile over your head, nevermind.

:picard:

so, everyone that was super upset, whatever became of this? any groundbreaking new developments?

jeg is probably still angry

That’s the latest. And yes, I’ve been following this.

Reading the comments on here and from those links are sad, immature, and most of all ignorant.

We are no longer a nation of torture. The Navy has to investigate any claims of abuse within their branch, it’s the law.

There is no Liberal / Obama conspiracy to destroy the military, get over it.

a complaint was lodged, investigation ensued, trial was said to be warranted, details and evidence will be presented and decision will be made. I do not see the problem with this?

It really doesn’t seem as though there is an investigation. It seems as though they have been charged. Investigation over.

I personally believe that if you are put in harms way you should be able to do what you need to do to protect yourself. If the man gets a punch to the stomach, oh well. That is kind of reasonable in my eyes. A broom stick up the ass would be an example of something unreasonable.

It’s war. People get hurt.

That’s because of the spin put on the articles.

Me too but you’re going off topic not understanding the situation. I feel like a broken record here…

The claims of abuse were said to happen while he was already captured and in custody. The military is required by law to investigate and if they find proof of wrong doing, they must prosecute.

Sure he deserves a lot more than some punches but as a nation, we cannot lower ourselves to that level of inhumanity of abuse and torture or we will continue to be viewed as the bad guys.
