Sean Avery suspended

Im not saying I think what Kaleta does is bad at all, its not… All of his hits are clean, but I know a bunch of people who are Leafs fans and Bruins fans who think most of his shots are unnecessary… But again, this is from the perspective of another team… If we had Avery (which we obviously never would) im sure we would all be saying its just part of the game and laughing at his comments.

Lmao… At first it sounded like a word my grandpa would use but now im going to run with this lol…

unnecessary … yea sure some are. but dirty, no. thats a big difference for me

well fuck them and there unnecessary hitting. every hit is necessary to get in a players/teams head. you dont play the body the team will just skate around you. you play the body play after play, the team is going to back down and play sloppy.

really? every hit is necessary? like hits from behind, and Mcsorely type hits?

sure y not. its hockey.

ohh there they go, there they go… every time someone says something about a hit from behind they go and pull a marty mcsorley out of they’re ass :stuck_out_tongue:

would you prefer Dale Hunter? :mamoru:

haha it was a quote from a movie, sorry lol

barber shop in coming to america…

hahaaha

my father told me back when he played with the french connection, if you went into a corner or to the boards and had your back turned you were a dumb ass and deserve to be hit.

that was then this is now

hence the reason i said hockey is going pussy!

:banghead:

:word:

Hockey has become a totally different game just like every other sport has progressed over time. Sure I enjoy watching old games from the past, but no doubt hockey is much more enjoyable to watch nowadays. To call it pussy is just foolish.

Im with you on that one…

While I understand why they protect the players and there are a lot more contact rules to keep them safe, I feel there is enough world class talent out there to keep hockey going strong even if we see some good and above average players drop off from “serious injury.”

The NHL is an entertaining league as they come but apparently the rest of America does not feel that way. Bring the physicality back and I think you’ll see a lot of the viewers come back. I think they need to be showing hit and fight highlights on ESPN, and teams need to be adopting one or two types like Avery again…

Yeah but you can’t have a guy getting a career ending injury and the NHL saying. “Oh well he was in a stupid position, his fault”. Then again if you play in traffic you are likely to get hit by a car.

Avery is a joke…any asshat who makes a mockery of the game like he did against Broduer last year by waving his stick around in his face like that will NEVER get any respect. Heck even Chris Neil is classier than him, and I hate that guy with a passion, but atleast he stays within the boundries. I would have suspended him a loooooong time ago, now its just a game for him to see how much he can get away with

what did they do when they didnt make as much money and were getting career ending injurys back in the day when it was a rougher sport. nhl didnt say anything then, why start now. its known to be a physical game, thats what your signing up for. its their job!

look at ufc. there is more and more people creating sports that just beat the shit out of eachother. im again not saying that they need to be 2 hand slashing people, full out running from behind, or just random swings at guys heads. i think if hockey players are getting paid that much, the game itself could be a little more physical. there is the talent out there for physical and an all around player. fuck more than half these guys are set for life even if they get hurt after a season or two and never have to play again.
