I’m REALLY not into street racing anymore, but if I’m ever with you and there’s a 100% open road that’s already been scoped out for the fuzz, I’ll consider it :tong
I only posted this because I only claimed “I think I can keep up with a stock AP1 from a roll” and everyone freeeeaked out a few months ago, this is the only video I’ve found with the two cars racing.
haha I know 99% of you guys are cool about the possibility of a 97-98MPH trap SER keeping up with a 97-98 trap AP1, which makes perfect sense to me, but cliff and a few other were bugging out and blew it way out of proportion :lol
No, not at all. I was just going through some SER videos and that came up, which reminded me of the little debate on here.
I honestly don’t care what my car does in a straight line anymore, I’m 99% done modding it, just finishing out my sound system, SS brakelines and a track/auto X wheel and tire set and that’s about it, then it’s all about saving for a real car, which, ironically, will most likely be an AP1 S2000 or a 2007+ 350Z (worth about $2,000 more than my car, 330whp and with boltons and a reflash and has hit 12.9 @ 107 with that setup. I can link you guys if it’s really necessary…)
Not following you… are you saying the S2000 isn’t a “real car” or that I shouldn’t be talking about my current car that I’m not super in love with beating a potential next car?
do you know how much work/money it takes to get 330whp out of a 350Z? They have the biggest drivetrain loss. Its retarted. Most bolt on/dyno tuned 350Z’s dont even lay down over 250whp.
^318whp/264wtq on a 5AT, rough conversion to a 6MT drivetrain loss is 325-330whp.
The 07+ have a new motor, VQ35HR compared to my motor/01-06 Z’s, the VQ35DE. Twin throttle bodies and reworked internals, makes 306bhp/265tq stock. Also revs to 7600RPM, 8000 with the reflash, but peak power will still be 7000-72000 without upgraded internals. (VQ35DE revs to 6600 stock, 7000 with reflash, and makes peak power at 6200-6400).
