I try to gain weight constantly…I never can seem to get past 145 w/out doing it unhealthy.
Im afraid to start working out again though bc I beef up, my legs and ass are big enough, when I work out they get bigger!!! Not sure that I want that. lol
my arms need some help too. Im almost 30…dont want the flab you know!
thats a crazy achievement. Im impressed. Those big bench shirts are ridiculous. I think its hilarious when dudes are warming up with them at competitions and they arent using enough weight to fully push the bar to their chest.
Im not really into powerlifting but im doing a raw powerlifting competition with my buddy this march. Its just for fun. The competition is raw which means there are no aids(straps, wraps, bench shirts) . you have to take a polygraph, drug test and join whatever organization is sanctioning it.
Im sure that Ill get no where near the top in deadlift because i have trouble holding 405 for without straps even though I can rep it or bench because I dont like barbells for chest. My chance to shine will be squatting
SER, are you into strongman style powerlifting? Either way (whatever kind of power lifting,) shoot me a PM if you’re looking for someone to train with. A friend of mine is always looking for someone to train with. He’s 6’2", 280 or so, and plans on entering both the Pittsburgh and PA strongman contests next year. We’ve already made him some farmer’s bars, and he’s bought a log-style deadlift bar.
I’ll bet cutty could put up at least that much with the massive vacuum that would occur if all of the cum built up in his asshole were to be released in one fell swoop.
cool, i will when i get back to the burgh. and to the guy doing the raw tested one, i compete in a.d.a.u. it drug tests every meet. in 2006, i was top 3 in bench nad deadlift for the 275lb. and 308lb. class. the funny thing is i am now 50 lbs. smaller then i usuallt compete at. i lost some strenght, but got a lot more speed, which helps with powerlifting. i will do a strongman contest, but i have small hands, so the grip tests always kill me. i can sgrug 495 with no straps for 8 reps, but can’t do a firemans carry…i have no clue why either. and if anyone needs any reall good advice, shoot me a pm.
actually, shorter peolpe have a better bench. taller people have better deadlifts and squats. we have further to lift the wight, but our height acts like a fulcrum.
go to www.titanpowerlifting.com to get a picture. mine is from inzer. anyway, u have to see one person to how tight they really fit. my wife is 116lbs, and my bench shirt is smaller then her tee shirts. they keep you in so tight your arms do not come down while u are standing up. u literally look like a zombie. so when u lay down, it forces the tension in the shirt to put tension on your chest, shoulders, tris. when lift off, you can feel where the shirt is working(its called finding the groove), when you feel it, toch the bar there, wait for the press call, and go up. the shirt gives your body more explosive power, so you lift the weight easier. but if you miss the groove, the lift becomes harder, because uyou are fighting the weight, plus the shirts internal resistance.
most people think powerlifting is just picking up weight, it is actually more of a technique sprt then anything. my buddy used to max at 185 lbs. he weighed 170 at the time, so it was a good lift, after i watched him bench, and showed him the proper technique for raw benching, he was doing 220 3 weeks later. it really is 50% technique, 25% strength, and 25% power
