Seth's Project log - new pics/new clip

the pics are down right now because my host hates people using bandwidth… it will be back up with in an hour…

The fatmat was about 160 usd for about 120 sq ft.

how much sq ft did you use to do your whole floor?

well i am not done … and i have only put one layer on the floor. I am going to try it like this for the summer if I think it should be quieter I will go for more.
The amount I got came in 2 roll. i am pretty sure I am near the last quarter of the first roll I will doubt check that tonight tho.

okay its update time… kinda took a while but oh well here we go…
I decided once and for all that the timing chain would no longer make noise in my car. So I pulled it all apart.
Let me tell you thats no simple job. To get the oil pan off I had to drop the front sub frame. Why you ask? well the oil sump goes down inside the oil pan in such a way that you can’t slide it forward enough to remove it.
I had to get the oil pan off to get the front of the motor off… here are a few pics of the repair to the tensioner.

that is the lower tensioner that was causing my issues.

Annoying oil sump.

After the motor was fixed I sent the car in to get my new carpet and a black headliner made. I will have pics of this this evening, but for now we will move on to what arrived at my house last saturday.

I am going to run the nissan fast program tonight to run the serial number of the clip but from what I understand its a 1998 clip, obviously a blacktop. The compression is good.
Along with the clip came the full digital climate control, and a nice guage cluster.
I have taken out the windshield and cleaned the clip so I don’t get cut all to hell from glass shards.

Last night I finished the install of my 2 amps. I hid the stereo stuff down in the spare wheel well so no one would see it. I know that not many people here are into car audio but I need a decient sounding system when I am driving down the road. here it is…

and yes I realize that I didn’t need to go through all the effort of the timing chain if I were just going to buy and sr… but the clip came along and it was exactly what I wanted, I had to buy it.

did the clip come with the front bumper?

yes but it is the same style as our 91 - 94 bumpers.

Wow man that stuff looks amazing, I wish I had the skill and equipment to do that kind of thing :(. I would make my car nice from the ground up (can’t even drive it now anyways) but I wouldn’t even able to, and it’s way to $$ to get it sent to a bodyshop for that. This is inspiring me lol

i saw that clip, cleanest blacktop ive seen…
