well, if you are working with large CAD files, there could very well be a legit use for tuning the array.
Probably true, but I’m using it for 3D CAD/Analysis; or it was built for it at least.
Quadro FX4500 VC, 4 Gigs DDR2 1066, Q6600 OC’d to 3.3Ghz, etc. Built it in Dec '06, and it still rocks today.
You see performance gains messing with stripe size across multiple LUNs when working with video editing and things of that nature.
I would love to see a before and after on a home desktop setup.
Ahhh, so large file size stuff; that makes sense. That’s what the guy who told me how to configure mine was saying with the large CAD Assembly files I was dealing with. Hmm… learn something new everyday.
ya, I was under the impression that the CAD files could get quite large. Seems inline with video editting and stuff.
