GAY!!!
SAAAD!
What a shame. Glad i read all of the post though
whoa
I was like “how the fuck is the South Gate plaza closing?”
I didn’t see that coming
Wow, this is a surprise. I cant say I blame Sasha though. The auto industry is a tough one and we have had our fair share of up and downs.
I wish you all the best Sasha but I really dont need to because you seem to be the kind of person that will excel at whatever you choose to do.
damn…why couldn’t it be a ricer shop…
surprised to hear this. sg has certainly done big things and good work.
Sad for Sasha, stoked for Kelsey
Well written. Bummer the shop is closing but it seems to be a well thought out, though hard, decision on his behalf.
The real point I knew it was time to close up shop was when I found myself advising customers against my services. Some kid that wanted to dump $15,000 into a rusted $5,000 car. Or someone that wanted GT-R like performance out of their 350z. “Can we make it all wheel drive?” Yes. Or you can buy a GT-R. I guess I stopped seeing the purpose of modifying cars, when there are such great cars available from the factory. The amount of money that can be burnt in racing is astronomical – and sickening. The kicker is, you don’t necessarily have any more fun. You just spend more money.
Any more depressing news out of Canada you would like to share with us Bing? Might as well put it all out there at once.
(lol)
Sasha will move on to better things i am sure.
Racing / cars is better as a hobby. When taken too seriously it just delays the rest of your life from happening.
Well written, seems very sincere. It is truly a loss but from what you shared I can appreciate it.
I have to wonder, what are you going to do for a job. I just figure you have something else already lined up. Not that we’re nosy just don’t want to see your talent/passion left to rust.
Damn, good luck Sasha. I’m sure you didn’t make this decision lightly so
No doubt
Because those shops always make money on the dumb masses. Shops that offer a lot of services and custom ones at that have a large overhead. I’m surprised that this happened in the GTA. I could see it happening in Buffalo or Rochester but you guys have massive population.
someone should tell all the VW kids that…
very sad, but what i think is more sad is this is the first of many, starting with the best, and all the rest will follow if things continue to go down hill. race tracks closing down, parts getting rare and hard to find, laws changing no more right hand drive. i wouldn’t doubt that in the next 5 years the whole scene will be extinct and all just great memories of the days that were good. like all good things they always come to an end!
thats not going to happen.
it’s just tough business trying to make money by building cars like this… IMHO there is more money in the maintenance of them. As with Auto-collision, you dont make money on the big jobs, you make money by cramming all the small jobs through the shop as quickly as possible with a couple larger jobs in the mix for good measure.
the shitty part about Sasha shutting down is that there are very few places we can trust to take our cars seriously and with the knowledge that sasha has with them…
Blame Canada
