To help clarify this to people who are unaware of the details of hosting and what cost go into it:
Every website needs a place to “host” Basically all the files, data, communication that happens within a website needs to be stored. The more active a website is the more “hosting” it needs, including a larger pipe (basically an internet connection that won’t bog under load) and that can be $$. Secondly the server needs to have the right hardware/software to deal with huge amounts of data (pictures, videos, code). Both the hardware and software needs to be maintained and THAT is the biggest expense. If there weren’t people like Singh that were willing to administer the server/website, Shift wouldn’t exist.
