Shifter Bushings

Any of you honda/dsm guys use these? Do they make enough of a difference? I can probably make these for under 30 bones:

i wouldnt reccomend metal on metal…use these they work great and they are cheap as hell.

Most guys into Honda’s are using polyurethane in the two shifter bushings, instead of the stock rubber ones. I don’t necessarily like it, because once poly compresses enough it no longer has a shape memory, leading to slop much faster than a rubber one would.

I personally use a set of custom machined bushings made out of delrin, a super tough plastic/resin. Pretty much indestructible, teflon impregnated, and dirt cheap.

All the above applies to hydraulic trans only, since they use bushings for each shifter rod (there are two). Cable applications might benefit, since the stock pivot is shitty.

Why not metal on metal? Actually the way they hook up, they barely ride the metal shifter bracket and sit inside a plastic bracket, currently filled with super soft rubber:

I have a set of aluminum ones in my RSX, they made a significant difference. also have a set that replaces the rubber under the shift box with aluminum as well.

Cool. I already have those:

I was thinking about the metal ones for my si but was kinda hesiatant on the metal to metal idea

why? it gives way better feel, so you are less likely to miss-shift. I would highly recommend it.

I use booger Bushings, one of the best $20 I ever spent

I dunno about hondas but on the dsms, skateboard/rollerblade bearings press right in with a little use a file and a vise.

i knew i saw this somewhere… it sounded too weird for me to say though. i’m glad you spoke up!
