i found a car i want form Colorado. how much is a reasonable shipping price to pay for a older beat up type of car? shipped to albany region
i priced a one way plane ticket and its around $120 one way. but then the drive would be 25hrs back so i cant do this myself. then consider hotel, food, gas.
if anyone knows a good shipping company in Colorado or 518 please lmk.
i’ved used montway transport before, they are a freight forwarder but i’d recommend them. i just priced up another s2k from oklahoma to here and it was 1000, so you’re probably looking at a similar amount
Insert one of many retarded stories about driving cars that I just bought long distances… Including one from CO to NY with a suspended license. The trip is always the fun part! Why not spend a couple days with your new car and have a badass story to tell about the time you flew to CO and drove it home??
I estimate driving a distance like that @ (google mileage/estimated low mpgs x average high fuel cost) + $20 per person per day food + $75/night lodging + flight cost. Add in an oil change pre-trip if the seller can’t provide info when it was last done.
EDIT- It’s always cool to stop at home depot or lowes and buy whatever $50ish dollar tool kit they have and throw it in the trunk. Its like insurance in case you need that ONE socket. If you don’t use it- return it when you get home.
Here’s my travel secret: THE BEST LAST MINUTE HOTEL DEALS ARE IN THE REST STOP TRAVEL FLYERS. Seriously. I carry AAA, and the flyer coupons are always cheaper. If you’re going alone, you can sleep in the car- but I personally think its worth the $60-80/night to sleep in a bed for 4/5 hours and take a shower before driving more.
Where’d you find a one way for $120?? Everything I see is double that.
All that said;
I used Gregg White last year to ship a '68 Bronco from NC to NY ($450 flat fee). He’s just a broker, but knows his shit and won’t fuck around with you. Super nice guy. I’d use him again any day for any shipment.
old beat up means might not make it 25 hours, dont listen to these fucks lol…
Call Z best transport and speak with mario… tell him Dave brown from albany ny sent you, ive shipped a dozen cars with him, cheapest I’ve seen, usually $500-800
Time is money. I’m all about an adventure…25hr drive to bring home a hunk of shit car, that’s borderline retarded.
WAY more cost effective to ship.
If I bought a car that I was YEARNING to drive in the worst way and was deemed mostly reliable (new/low mileage), I would buy a plane ticket if I had two days to kill.
