fore and aft i dont mind, but moving the seat back position is a no-no. and my bucket height is easy, i go all down.
nick has driven my car and has to move the seat in closer to the pedals… i guess i drive like a G. i also HATE when passengers adjust my seat because i like the seats to be identical in position for symmetry

If I owned your car, I’d go purley off of the oil life moniter, or 1 year, whatever comes first. I know a little bit about engine oil to say the least. I know it feels good to change it early but you arent helping anything. If you want more advice, go to www.bobistheoilguy.com and/or send a sample into blackstone and they will tell you how far to go on it.

I’d also dump the Mobil 1 filter for an AC Delco or WIX or Purolater. Sand, yes sand has been found in several mobil 1 filters.

Delco is awesome, and rotella T 15-40 is great oil, the first 1000 miles on my new motor i used rotella T. ive spoken with several people who have gone through blackstone, its not too expensive to know if you can save money by going longer between oil changes. some of them got over 15k miles between oil and filter changes.

Yep. I use the 5w/40 synthetic in the Vette and the standard 10w30 in the Stang. Synthetic is overrated to say the least…

I try and avoid driving the car in the rain and usually wipe it down when it gets in the garage. If I notice anything not working 100% then I become obsessed about it. I’ll almost lose it if I hear some ticking or if the wheel starts to wobble even the slightest way.

Oil changes are always done before 3000. One time I lost track of milage and it actually went a little over 3000 (about 12 miles I think) and I was so pissed at myself. Mobil 1 is complete junk… Amsoil only.

I’ll admit some of M1’s synthetics have gone down the drain, you just need to know which ones to look for.

they changed their formula, it’s no where near as good as it used to be. Ok, calling it “complete junk” is a little unfair… so how about just “junk” ;D

No, you’re right. When compared to Amsoil, M1 is garbage.

Now if you’re REALLY anal, you get your oil tested 4-5 times a year like I do. I win.

I’m with Brett on the seat thing. I don’t know why it bothers me so much. The passenger seat has to match how my driver’s seat is. AND even worse than that probably… my windows. If my drivers side windows is rolled down “x” amount, my passenger side has to be down that much too. And to make matters worse, the top of the windows in the back have to match where the top of the front windows are. They all have to be rolled down the same. It drives me CRAZY if someone has their car windows rolled down all different. I’m weird.

The seat problem is fixed with Powered memory seats and steering wheel. Spend hours finding the exact right settings and then save them. My car has two memory positions so I have a normal driving position and a long distance easy on the back position.

well 3.73s and i want to not hammer it down central ave, or my local area and get pulled over… so i grandma drive it most of the time unless its late at night during a shift change LOL

Ive got 4.10’s and I still cant shift into 5th at those low speeds or it will buck and not have any power to move.

I can definitely put it in 5th at 40 no problem…and I have relatively long gears and a high rear end (3.15)
