SHO powered camaro

hopefully that means it will be super good when it is done!

So your next project is a LS1 in a SHO right?

my next project will probably be a vette with intake and exhaust. Then sell everything else

Alex’s next project falls into the “if i call nick for help he might choke me to death” category

I&E on an LS1 would be a good route to go, lol.

I have ambitious goals today but I am going to remove the engine used for mock up and bolt the heads on the go fast block and get it in the car for good. Last night I painted the block, timing gears, and oil cooler bracket. (it can’t be seen so I sprayed it blue to save money  ) Painting engine mounts, valve covers, charge pipes, and turbo bracket are also on today’s to do list.

I also found this kick ass sculpture out side of a repair shop.

there IS a engine, trans, radiator, intercooler. This is how high the car sits with stock Z28 suspension!!! nobody can tell me I didn’t massively remove weight from this thing.

This was put back together yesterday. I also had to remove debris from 2 valves on the other head because the valves failed to seal correctly. That machine shop sucks hairy donkey balls

I am considering sending my hot pipes including my downpipe out for ceramic coating to help keep engine bay temps down. Any suggestions on good places to take them to?

progress is painfully slow. Finally got the alignment pins setup in the adapter plate to keep things centered. final runout is .001" Which I think is probably tighter than factory spec. Installed the torque converter and bolted everything together to ensure proper fit of everything. Going to pull it apart once more to make sure no gunk made its way into any of the engine or transmission seals and then bolt it together for the LAST time. Then set that bitch in the car. Still a bunch to do but that has been holding everything up for a while because nothing can be done without the engine in the car right now. I decided that I am going to have oil lines made by a place by me similar to ferry. I was looking at using braided lines, rubber lines with barbs, and having lines made and this is by far the best option. It is cheap and most importantly it is serviceable unlike fucking around with barb fittings like I did on the turbo SHO. Don’t get me wrong they seal up great but having to cut the lines to remove them sucked.

So sunday the engine goes in and the final fab can be finished on the little brackets to hold things like the ignition module and FPR can be done. Run fuel lines button up the wiring. Still a lot to be done but the project is not dead.

Good to hear the project isnt dead, I’m still super interested to see what this car does once it’s roadworthy.

Lol i wish that was true! I’ve got 2yrs on him.

this was the moment that started the project. I bought the camaro just out of frame because this fit… what a mistake that was

ha you think you are interested! I am definitely going for broke on this one. It will either go fast or blow up

Project update:

This project is all Alex’s now. I cleared all my shit out of the garage and said fuck it.

Lol

This project hasn’t been in that garage for over a week…

u mad?

my shit hasn’t been in that garage for over a month

Wait whats going on here?

Hotrodkid, has decided to change directions in his life and doesnt have the time or will power, (or feels like he is not properly reimbursed) to finish up on the project.

The project has been moved from the user names "Justin"s garage to a shop where it is being completed by a very competent fabricator who is not on the boards.

that about sums it up. The project is 90% of the way done. a couple exhaust tweeks and a couple brackets and all of the fab is done. Up to the point nick got burned out on this project the fab work was fantastic. The car has pretty much been untouched since june. It is no secrete that I am not a fabricator.

FYI the .030 flux wire does not fit your welder. If you don’t need it I can use it here.

It took much more then the Camaro itself to burn me out. It was a combined effort of multiple cars and multiple people.

Ill grab your .030 flux tomorrow if im near storage.

Longest build in history.
