Ive been wanting to take my car to the track for a while now. I know its not fast, but its more a curiosity factor. The thing is, its a 98 buick regal LS (NA) and as soon as i pull in everyone will be like wtf? It will prob run mid 15s. I know people will ask me why i brought it since i dont really have time to back it up.
I plan on doing a few more things to it and i really would like to see what kind of difference it made.
So the question is…
Should I go, or save myself the humiliation of draggin the granny car
the whole idea of going to track is to have fun. who cares what others think
first time i went my distributor cap developed a crack on the way to the track. i didn’t care i was so excited to go that i ran anyways. ended up going 20.1 lol
fixed the cap and went back next week and ran mid 14s!!
Go and have fun
Just run what you brung. :madfawk: fuck what they say.
LIke Jeff said, tracking is just for fun. There are some people that get all super competitive, look at you funny, talk shit, but who cares they’re :greddy2: anyway
i know there are alot of haters around and i for one have gotten mad at the track waiting for alot of 15-18 second cars to make their passes but i for one am lucky enough to have a car that i can take to the track and keep clean all the time cause i don’t use it as a daily driver and am fortunate to have other vehicles that i own. what i’m trying to say is just go and have fun. it is such a rush to go racing and i’m sure you’ll be hooked. if i didn’t have a fast car i would still be drag racing my 15-18 second daily driver. don’t worry what other people think, go and have a blast.
ya i go to the track almost everyweek. I just love cars. I usually just start talking to people i dont even know about their cars. Everyones pretty cool about everything. I know ive talked to some of you before but you prob dont know it.
Why the hell is the track rained out??? It hasnt rained for at least 7 hours. They cant prep it again?? Errrr
Forget what others think about your car. As long as YOU enjoy doing it, thats all that matters. I drive a Hyundai Tiburon for christ sakes, I mean come on, you can’t get worse then that.
experience, is key
that way when you do end up with a faster car you can drive it well, I should have taken my jeep to get used to the lights and the experience
Its vista though i hope the program will still work. Well ill let you know when i get the pcm. HV3 may not be till fall. Ill try to find someone who did a top swap and maybe i can pick one up used. Keep an eye out for me
I’m doin the top swap cam install sometime within the next few weeks. Its been a long time coming, I started gathering parts over 5 months ago and now over 2 grand later I’m nearly finished
