Should i trade my 240.. HELLZ NO KEEPIN IT!

As many as u know, ive had my 240 for about 6 months…

Ive been offered a trade for a 92 Teg w/ LS/VTEC…
I know its a Honda, but its worth more than my 240 and i really want to get a 97 240 in the next year and i could sell it for more? I need imput on this one everyone, Heres pics http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/731862 The Integra is on page 4

Being an ex Honda guy I’d say “No!”

I am seeing a lot of my friends loosing tonnes of money on their Hondas… so to think you’ll get more for it may be some flawed logic. I think more and more folks will be running from Hondas in the near future.

i used to only drive Hondas. I got my 240 by Chance, but ive loved it.
Ive experienced it for a while now and i guess im ready for a change, But in the next year i really want a 97 240LE. So we’ll see what happens. thanks for the comment.

Even though you say the Teg is “worth more” the trade is still a risk.

Know both cars well and make an educated decision.

And ask yourself one question:

“Can I really live with FWD for a whole year???”

 j/k

Good luck man.

read this for the LS/Vtec

unless the motor has got vtec pistons and such so in other words done proper… no just slaping on a b16 head or such…

Your gonna have more trouble with the motor then you’d like.

I have a 93 integra… had a ls/vtec motor… put the stock one back in and sold the other to a real vtec horny kid…

started driving my 240 a few days ago for the first time “its sat for 2 months waiting for the SR” and I’d say the KA is better and I’m by far much much more pleased with the 240

No no no no no no no…but thats just my opinion.

I had a '91 LS w/stock 1.8l.

It was a great car, but I think they rust even faster than a 240. Even though they have equal length half shafts, the torque steer is still awfull.
If the Integra isn’t fully loaded (and it looks like it isn’t with no sunroof), you will have a hard time selling it. If it was a sure deal, I’d say go for it, like if it was super low k’s and mint, but if not I would stick with the 240.

By the way, good luck in finding a 240. I have a '97LE and it took me almost a whole year to find exactly what I was looking for.
Don’t give up though… She is out there.

I should tell everyone not to worry lol. I will have another one. Iam 240 Loyal. I just would like a change for a while. BTW the Motor in the teg is a fairly built LS/VTEC, drove it tonight and it fuckin moves… No worries just means i have to roll to the SON meets in the 350Z hahaha. Thanks for the comments…

you`re still on this?

stop it.

keep the 240.

Could there be a reason why he wants to staright up for the 240? Why doesn`t this dude sell his teg?

frankenstine motors are almost never reliable…but the car does look good with the white rims…its clean…

if you do go through with it, do a bluebird sr swap!

BlueBird Sr would be Amazing… Im just thinking for down the road. Ill miss my 240 like crazy, which is why this decission is so hard, but im ready for something different for a while. Dont worry we still have 3 other nissans… And i will have another 240 Soon.

Even your dad went to the dark side during the 3.2cl phase…and how did that go for him ? hmmmmm???

ZZZZACTLY!

keep the Nissan.

[quote=“Theo23”]I had a '91 LS w/stock 1.8l.

DUDE it does rust out quick eh… i just finished doing my 93… passenger side rocket… both rear wheel wells, got rid of the spoiler as well
had to fix the hood cause it was starting to bubble… my teg has 168k on the body and my 240 has actually 240k and the body on my 240 is easy twice as good of shape then the integra

The Integra im lookin at is in better shape than my 240, its pretty much a done deal, altho ill miss it im lookin forward to having something different for a while. Thanks for all the coments

i sold my old 93’ civic with ZC swap for $3000 as is…the car had 314,000 kms :stuck_out_tongue:

judging by how well Hondas have kept their value, you should be able to sell the Teg easy.

good luck.

The only problem with this is that the prices of 240’s have been getting slightly higher over the last year. The only ones selling for realy cheap are usualy shit boxes. Make sure you don’t get stuck in a situation where you trade your car and then you try to sell the integra and you can’t get the money you want because there are so many integras for sell and then you want to buy a 240sx but the prices are so high due to the high demand and you get stuck putting more money then you thought into it where as you could of held on to your 240sx and spent that extra money on a SR or an RB or something. Plus I personaly think a S13 is better then a S14… Oh crap here comes the flaming. It’s my personal preference people I didn’t say It actualy is better I said I personaly think a S13 is better then a S14. So don’t start crying. …

Hey Cole just between me and you the S13 really is better then a S14 shhhhh! Keep it a secret! Shhhhhh!

I agree with John about that, the price for 240sx’s are getting higher and if you want to get a 240sx again after you trade this one in, you might be spending more money altogether. And the integra might be hard to sell because there are so many others around.

Pshh…S14 IS better than S13, I thought everyone knew that…

Anyways, no more posts about which is better.

hondas keep their resale value, that is nothing new. cars with modified motors lose their resale value, because people who are buying are under the impression that they have been abused. a friend had a mint '92 teg GSR, bone bone stock, super clean inside and out, no rust, red, and about 160xxx KM on it. he sold it for $6500, although it took him about 6 months to get that price. he also has another 92 GSR that is super mint with low mileage that i can get off him for about 5g’s, that one is black, lowered w/leathers, super clean also.

I think u will be disappointed to find out how hard that teg will be to sell with that motor. if its in better shape than your 240, why doesn’t the owner sell it, and buy a better 240 than yours?

if u think that u will get more coin for the teg, u better do some homework first. i worked at honda, and i know the dealership would give you $500 for that teg, and personally, thats pretty close to what its worth to me, although it does look clean.

oh, and i can get u a 90 teg with a JDM motor with the EFI swap (took out the carb) for $1500, body is a little rough, but the motor pulls really strong. i came close to buying it, but then i found my vr6 passat.

good luck, keep the 240!!! that teg isn’t worth close to what u think it is.
