Dsm’s just do it easier than most other cars, because their stock clutch is designed to slip on a launch, rather than snap the tranny. So to get it to not slip you need a little technique. Its this way on most awd cars.

stock clutch replacement… yes went bad already
they dont last to long with higher power levels
bunch of cobra guys blow out stock clutches in a few thousand miles while pullied, so quit being a know it all
and yes the Cobra clutch is warrantied for 12,000 miles… but since I have 13,025 miles, I’m a little SOL now.
edit: I had my original one replaced because my TOB went bad, and theres an active recall on those right now
p.s. stick with dsm’s kid

Did the dealer offer a Haynes manual or a Chilton manual back in the day?

No you said you replaced the clutch with an aftermarket one, as a warrantied repair. I am not Bullshitting, just repeating things that you said.

and while you ford guys keep throwing stock clutches at your cars because “the pressure plate is never the problem” us dsm guys will sit back and laugh because we know what the problem is and you won’t listen

I owned a 87 GT mustang before. I had to have the transmission replaced because I snapped the weak 3rd gear of the T5. Which was a stock replacement at 60k miles, because of the same problem the previous owner had. I had to change the fuel pump because the fuel pumps I guess just stop working after 80k miles. This happened even to my friends car at 80k miles. It had ignition problems because of a bad connection on the distributer. It burned oil, suspension sucked, and would get sideways everywhere, and driving in the snow was out of the question. This was all on an 80k mile car. I owned the car about 8 months and needed a lot of other routine maintenance…but things like transmissions, I wouldn’t consider routine.
So I wouldn’t really say ford was on par with quality with the 5.0 mustang. Maybe your experience is different.
