Simultaneous Lock Question

So I have a question that Google and the internet can’t seem to accurately resolve.

Light synopsis…I have a house member that seems to lack a sense of privacy. Taking things randomly kind of thing…he sold his 55’’ TV and returned my 42’’ to the living room to take its place without my permission. Borrowing things without saying anything (which I wouldn’t care about if it wasn’t my tool set and it was gone when I needed it to do my brakes). But anyway. He can pick locks. The way our doors work, they need to be pushed as the lock is turned in order to open.

TO SKIP UN NECESSARY READING ENTER HERE:

I would like to set up my door so 2 locks must turn together to open. So I would need to put in both keys simultaneously to open or close the door. I have not yet purchased the locks, so I am open to purchase suggestions as well in order to accomplish my goal.

Thanks all!

In all honesty, you should tell him to leave. It seems like a lot of unnecessary stress having a roommate you can’t trust at all.

We’re working on this one right now with our landlord…but I need something for the time being. I have a pet in my room and a lot of expensive electronics that I can’t afford to lose.

Get an electronic lock where you have to type in a code

I agree with lance. A roommate picking your lock to take something of yours without asking, fuck that.

good luck man… having bad room mates fucking blows

edit: ask me how i know

I like this idea, gonna broaden my search now.

I know man, but like I said I need something that will hold over for now. We have someone else lined up and ready to move in, when they come in the doors will lose the locks.

Thanks Kevin, I guess the moral of the story is you don’t REALLY know someone until you live with them. I didn’t know a lot about each of my house mates until I lived we moved in, and some things I’m happier know than others. But violation of privacy is one thing that was absolutely agreed wouldn’t happen, and here we are. Maybe when our landlord confronts him he will be willing to change. Maybe he won’t. We are supposed to talk to him tomorrow and tell him the full story of whats going on and that we have another willing tenant to take over the lease.

Good idea to have on your room anyway in case you or your roommates have people over.

and with that you won’t have to modify the door at all

+rep man, nice find!!! Ordering it now, that’s so cool!

kick that motherfucking cocksucking whore out!

seems to me like he’s the type of guy that will come back after you kick him out.

This, provided he isn’t a leet h4x0r

Probably, which is why if this works, all the cylinders in the locks are being changed…etc.

True, but I was looking at the programming on the lock and instead of 6 8 digit codes, I can alter it to store 1 48 digit code :lol

He can have fun with that.

Double post FTL!

Haha omg. Imagine bringing a gal home and being all, “One sec, gotta unlock my door.”

<48 numbers and 10 minutes later>

“Aww yeaaa.”

:rofl

So I’m having some trouble installing any kind of lock…there’s a bunch of really shitty holes behind my door plate, its like the fucker wasn’t meant to be locked :headbang
Help is probably hard without pictures, so some will be posted after I get the shields back off. fml
