Sister looking to buy Scion Tc...is this good or bad?

Just looking for some imput on the Scion Tc, i really didnt hear too much about em since their realitively new, i dont want my sister to waste her money on a POS obviously…Any input would be helpful …good or bad…

dunno post up pics of her and Ill tell ya

lol Wow jacking off must really be real hobby for u!!! :jerkit:

Damn it u got me on that one but anyway showing us pics is very important so post them up.

well spangler. i towed one the other day. she use to date a buddy of mine. her sister said that they were going about 5mph in a parking lot, and the car started to slide to the right (on a lil slant entering the lot) and it hit a curb about 6" tall. i have never seen a car as far out of allignment as this car was. the underneith was totally fubar’d. i havent talked to her since about how much damage, but the tow and the camber were totally out and the lower A arm or what ever is on those cars looked like it came out of a oven at 2000 degrees.

but they do look nice though. V-Dubs look nice. girl i just started seeing is lookin for a car. i am tryin to convince her to get a 2.5 jetta or new civic 4door (40mpg)

huh why was i brought up into this

please dont tell me you mistaken fivel for me

Don’t they have a pretty low crash test rating ? I am probably wrong- but I thought I remember something about them being a slinky in an accident.

Ask InstaneSTi on here. he used to have one. he is our resident SKY-ON expert

i test drove one and they are nice all around car with toyota quality but not very responsive at all as far as power goes, i had to pick between this car and the cobalt and i got the cobalt since its faster but if shes not worried about being fast in stock form then it would be a good car

Yeah but the toyota isnt going to lose near the value that the cobalt will. So if you care about not loseing money then buy the toyota. What about the new civic?

then again, we are talking about scions, not toyota celicas…

Probably a good car if kept stock. It has a Camry motor in it and those things are probably about bullet proof as far as reliability goes. I think they have good stereo’s in them or something like that.

And don’t forget about all the sweet shift knobs and racing pedals you can customize it with.

my sis was looking at either the scion or mazda 3…

she went mazda 3 and i’m glad she did. its a sweet ass car! it handles well and is decently powerful. even with the base 2.0 motor. rides pretty nice.

we didnt test the tc tho… but both cars are pretty nice for the value. the mazda 3 tho is a better handler in all the reviews i looked up on the two cars.

yea i definitely want her to stick with something foreign so that it will actually run for a while without goin in for repairs shortly after purchasing (being a ford owner, we always worry about this… ) I will have her also look into civics and the mazda 3 as well… have to check the pricing though…arent new civic EX’s more than the Tc…anyways thanx for the help guys!

to tell the truth… the new civic is the first civic i’ve ever grown to like… its small, Great on gas, kinda neat lookin, 6 airbags, 6 speaker stereo with subwoofer, yet still has some pretty good power (i was surprised) and the SI model is SICK, dyno’d at 205whp… My girlfriend has a new civic ex coupe, it rides like a dream and he seat are extremely comfortable. she went from 40 to 125 in about 10 secs.
i’d say look into a 06 civic

How much she looking to spend? If the civic is over her price range she may want to check out the new (to the US) Honda Fit do out in a month or so I believe. Looks to have a real nice and useful interior layout and get really good gas mileage.

tell her to get the optional TRD csc kit if she goes for one

she said she doesnt want to go over $16,000 which is right about at the line of an 06 civic…shes actually looking into them now as well…im glad shes not being so one dimensional now!!!

um yeah, that kit will cost about 4-5 grand :tounge:

for all the standard options I think scions go for something like this. As for power goes… well its not really there. As far as reliability. There pretty good…well unless your this guy

There pretty much a new generation celica. But there heavier and slower. The gas mileage is there. The only good thing is that you can customize it before it gets to you from the dealer. Ive seen two 3sgte swaps into scion tc’s. TRD also makes a supercharger kit for one. And I cant remember who makes a turbo kit for the car that produces over 250whp?
