Skyline Front Cut

I was wondering if a Skyline front cut can be put on a 240sx. Will the rails and pillars line up. Because by eyeballing it, it looks like it will. Can it work?

Let me know!!

Please don’t

It can work… But why? For dual wishbone?

It can’t be for looks.

Theoretically yes the GTST and 240 seem to be similar from what I remember. Only pros to the skyline front setup is you can run stupid wide wheels without hitting the coilovers or upright. No camber adjustment from the factory is shit though.

x2…save yourself the embarrassment…

First of all, I didnt say I would do it.

Secondly, I am asking for somebody else.

Third, Why would it be embarrassing that somebody did such a thing. Its not your car, so let them do what they want! Not like you driving it.

Finally, I would just buy a damn skyline!

P.S. If any of you know somebody with a skyline rolling chassis let me know!

try gtrcanada man lots of rollers get sold there for decent prices.

as for the front end, I think it would work and possibly even look some what cool but seems like a waste of money in theory, but if ones happy with spending the money then i dont see the problem.

ignore the dumb fucken haters, if you have one and have the knowledge or have someone with the knowledge do it. It’s been done. In fact geoff from full race has a kit to convert an s14 to double wishbone and he said compared to the race shocks he had with mcpherson strut stock setup to some cheap konis on the doublewishbone conversion its a world of difference so totally worth it. If you can do it.

For plain looks eh… you dont need a whole cut, the body can be fitted, but meh that’s kinda lame.

Personally R32 front on a coupe looks fucking amazing. One plus to the OE s chassis setup is adjustment is a breeze but a lot of GTRC people prefer the SLA setup of the r chassis.

Oh dear God… I have been scarred for life. I thought the 90s were over:

Most of the conversions I’ve seen, have just rewelded r32 strut towers into the s-chassis, rather than doing the whole clip.

The dual wishbone does handle nice, I would never knock that.

I don’t personally like it, but to each his own.

As for it looking good… I think it looks terrible.

If anyone WANTED to do it… I have two sets of r32 suspension sitting around. knuckles, lca’s, upper arms (adjustable and not), basically everything that they can test fit/buy.

Good talking to you again ahmed. Keep up the anonymous blog commenting. Its nice knowing you still care.

To each their own Mark, there’s pros and cons to both suspensions.

S chassis upside is there’s only three wear factors, the ball joint, tie rod and pillow ball. Along with this, it’s super easy to adjust camber and you can do it without an alignment machine. It’s also just plain and simple a hell of a lot easier to work on.

R chassis upside is the ride quality, and the ability to fit really wide wheels without having to worry about hitting a strut tube. The failure point is the amount of wear factors, FLCA bushings, ball joint, uright bearing, lower ball joint, tie rod, basically a bunch of shit to go wrong. The real failure though in this design is the FLCA bushings as once they go, you hear them clunk and they fuck up your alignment bad.

I agree 100% with you.

my main arguement against it… is while it provides great grip… its not the best suited to drifting. I’d much rather have a macpherson (sp?) front suspension… as that is what I’m converting my 4 door too over the winter.

My daily r32 will remain dual wishbone… because ripping on/off ramps is fun. As is the ride quality.

I’d say for most everything, dual wishbone is far superior.

Just not for my purposes.

I always wanted to build an awd s14, with gtr dual wishbone front suspension.

Yeah. I agree with you, the SLA setup is shit for drifting. But for daily driving and taking corners hard it’s great. It’s all down to personal preference some hate it some love it. I want to see how you do the S13 conversion on yours. Where as I’m going to stick with the SLA and see what all I can do with it.
