Just put a FMIC on my car and now i need a new smaller battery, not really into relocating the current battery to the trunk so, is there anything to look for when buying a smaller battery ? will it have enough power since the 240 is supposed to use the bigger battery …ect? whats everyone else have?
Could also consider some of the batteries that sasha is selling since now he has an online store as well
Edit: Or if you’re fucken baller of ballers you could buy their newly released 3lbs battery that equals my 11.5lbs battery for about 900 bux LMAO… i just saw that on the site… holy crap… they have a 3lbs battery… wtf.
Edit 2: They now have race lithium batteries which are super low (for lower center of gravity) going up to 2000$ holy shit… yeah we’re not going to buy this stuff but this is news to me.
The best part about these batteries is they can be totally discharged and be dead as a nails, and with a charge be good as new. Many other batteries once dead will not recharge at all.
For a few years I tried Westco Miata batteries, but those things are shittier than shit. I know run the battery Sasha sells and it is perfect. He’s right, I have let me battery drain and sit for weeks with no ill effects. Last battery you ever need to buy.
only thing you gotta find is those SAE terminals which sasha has, these batteries already have the m6 threaded hole.
I ordered my terminals through pdm-racing.com
alot of responses out ther with people saying theirs died after a year or so…some have better luck with them.
me personally im on my second one since i left the first one discharged over a whole winter season.
wouldn’t hold a charge even using a proper charger like the CTEK 3300
my second battery holds charges well wen you use it everyday.
ever since installing an alarm…summer time it can hold a charge for a about a week or so…winter time…mines doesnt have enough juice if you leave it more than 2 days…and maybe only 1 night in super cold -20degree temp.
then again small batteries dont have high cold cranking amps
I took mine out over the winter and storing in a warm place… just in case… although on ls1tech some of the guys with v8s crank em up in winter (braille auto battery) so i dunno. Never had a prob so far.
The Odyssey batteries are a proven cheap price choice, can’t go wrong with that.
This is what I use and its great. I bought a used one for $50, it ended up being 6 years old by the time it kacked so I picked up another and love it. They are a good price now too… they used to be over 2 bills, now they’re around 150
Actually, sorry I use the PC925 on it’s side. It is a bit larger, but I still fit my piping beside it… and I didn’t have to change my terminal wire set-up. I did have to fab up a new tie down system.
Call me if you want more info on mounting it, Lucas.
I bought a Deka battery and Sasha told me it was going to die, now I need to boost my 180 before starting it. When it hits sg this week its getting the pc680. I watched dan’s battery die and with a boost it was fine. Hands down one of the best.
