I just built a pretty rad bench for the shop and a ladder to get onto our roof for like $20 in materials.
I also went to Joann Fabrics over the weekend and re-upholstered some old stool vinyl. Jay on being cheap like us!

[QUOTE=JayS;4651923]I’m surprised that doesn’t end up bowing out more with that much distance between supports. I didn’t put a lot of thought into the design though, just took the tire rack one and duplicated it with wood.

it bows out maybe 2" total from where it should be. but its bolted with metal “L” brackets on the inside of the corners.
I need to make one of these. Too many rimz
Same here @Minglor.
Pro tip:
When hanging one of these racks make sure to take into account how the tire has to lift up and over that front retaining bar. On attempt one I hung mine about 1" too high and the tires wouldn’t clear the ceiling to go into the rack. It’s easy to make this mistake if you don’t have particularly high ceilings and you’re trying to get the tires up out of the way as much as possible.
for those of you who are cheap and too lazy to build it. here you go
