Say for example that my girlfriends dad pays for four dishnetwork receivers in his house.

Could I take one of them back to my apartment and set it up here and just pay him the 5 bucks a month for the extra receiver charge?

u can do that with TW cable boxes too, one of my roommates does it

^ except with TW you have to switch boxes once a month with the house where they belong or it gets deactivated

my roommate has been doing it for over a month with no problems, its prolly been like 2-4 months now

It will, you’ll get “This reciever is not authorized” then you just plug it in at the original house and take the other one and it resets within like 24 hours
