the last time i was at the strip one of track workers was tellin me that snow tires work well as drag radials. the guy had like 3 teeth and overalls on with no shirt undernieth it, so i dont know if i believe him.
but, is that true?

Not really, drag radials and snow tires are two completely different compounds and won’t grip the same. While both are very soft most snow tires do not take well to heat (Much in the same manner all-season tires don’t). On top of that the tread (Unless it’s bald) will result in less of a contact patch. And there are probably some other technical reasons but I’m not 100% certain on the facts beyond that.
The snows should get great traction for a straight line in cooler temps, but once they warm up theyre going to be slop and basically ripping tread off… Just get slicks
