There is also a big difference in the types of crime though…
A bunch of kids from Amherst stealing shit out of unlocked cars vs people breaking into locked homes in the middle of the night etc

Laugh at thinking it wont happen in amherst. It happens all over, doesn’t matter what town. Month or two ago they caught a guy and a kid that have been robbing from grand island down to west seneca. These guys dont say “o shit we are in amherst we better not break into a house” Most home breakins happen during the day.
this kind of thinking is AWFUL
This so wrong in so many ways.
I wish I could say something about living in East Aurora but you know what, it happens there too, unfortunately.
I obviously wasn’t serious dudes. But I do think that if you leave your door unlocked you’re an idiot.
It’s just my perspective though. I grew up in the city like I said so I was taught to lock everything all the time.
It makes so much sense to me, it takes like .7 seconds to lock a door and it can prevent such a horrible thing from happening. Why the hell wouldn’t you turn that lock?
I know that it has a lot to do with psychology though. You don’t want to tell yourself that you live in a bad neighborhood where you need to lock your doors. You wanna say, “My neighborhood is so safe I don’t have to worry about that. That’s why I pay the insane property taxes.” You see having to lock your doors as admitting that you live in a bad neighborhood and you psychologically block yourself from doing it.
But then you cry on the news when you come home to your McMansion and someone stole your 52" plasma.
To me it’s simple. Locking your doors takes no effort and it prevents so many bad things from happening.
Get over yourself people, Amherst IS NOT The Hamptons.

Don’t take Fade so literally. He wasn’t saying he’s glad people got robbed. It’s just that in this day and age no area is immune from crime. IMO times will only become more difficult and crime filled, along with strife and job woes. LOCK YO DOORS! HIDE YO KIDS, HIDE YO WIFE!
I was merely expressing my discust for the stupidity behind the idea of not locking your doors.

McMansion? Wow that hurts. lol
You built your McMansion I think, right? If so that doesn’t count as a McMansion in my book.
Plus I’m willing to bet you lock your doors.
Yeah and nobody can see it, does that disqualify it from being a McMansion?
It’s also not the city of Buffalo
Compare the crime rates
Figuratively. You meant to say figuratively.
I always get a kick out of people overusing literally… and this was the most blatant case I’ve seen in a while.
Mikes house is no McMansion.
Troll
I know, I was just kidding. I went with Don to drop tires off once and was in awe. Such a cool location and while I wasn’t inside, the house looked really sweet. Def not a McMansion.

You don’t know that, the burglaries might have happened right in his back yard! Maybe they tallied up all the stolen items in his back yard? Was it a freudian slip ya think?
I keed
Should see it with snow…
[sarcasm]Yeah, because every neighborhood in the city is the same. [/sarcasm] :picard:
The University heights should be bulldozed.
