Well, we didn’t ever think that sponsors would jump on so soon, so knowing what to do with the money is difficult say right now.
Without the sponsors, the $20 went towards the cost of stickers, membership cards, and the cost of the webpage stuff. Any money left over at a profit is to be spent on some sort of event for the paying members, be it a party or other idea.
When the sponsors come into play, things get different. Trying to figure out what to charge them and what not is in the works right now, when comparing ourselves to other forums and their costs to sponsor etc.
I’m talking to one other importer right now, but waiting for a positive response. I am definately going to have one of the trusted and known importers on board first, before a new crew.
It will all work out, don’t worry, no one is lining their pockets yet. lol.
They sell imported cars from Japan. He has the company out of his house. Nis240 is his neighbor.
He wrote me an email telling me that he doesn’t really want to sponsor the NECC, just just wants to advertise on it.
We could take two approaches: Let him advertise for a rate, or tell him to take off and this isn’t bargain finder.
If we let him, then there would be a difference between advertising and sponsoring? The difference being, that members would be getting a discount from the pricing structure by a percentage or what ever. So this wouldn’t be the case here.
I"m thinking that sponsoring should be in the $200/year range. Maybe a little less depending. Or more if we get up banners and what not (over winter).
Should the “advertising” be more or less than the sponsoring rate? Since the members get nothing in return, maybe it should be higher, because it is of no benefit to the NECC or it’s members??
I’m leaning towards the letting him advertise, and anyone else that wants to, but charge them $250/year. ???
200-300 would be good for advertising I think. This site is full of people that are his target market. I think 780’s rates are about 300 but thats just what I heard from someone.
Yeah, the rates are around the $300 mark for the year. Although those pages have a lot more people to target, and have banners to help with the advertisments. Of course this payment of about $200 will be for THIS year, and next, when we are larger and have banners and what not, it should be at the 3 bills mark.
I think you’re on track with the advertising idea. As was said. We’re not bargain finder. But because of our lower membership, although more focused rates of no more than 200.00 should be reasonable. I know we certainly have a lot of guests that browse and will take advantage of the advertising and call them because of our association.
