I have to disagree here. Look at our own Revolutionary war, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan. All you need to do is make it too painful for them to stay and there are enough rednecks and gangbangers who would fight back. We also have so much actual territory that they would need to control it would make those strongholds less important.
I would bet that Russia and China have already played out the war-games and understand the ‘Engine of the United State’ well enough to do some pretty serious damage with relatively little resources.
We’re all very fortunate that China relies so heavily on american consumer spending and the US equity market. They may not like Americans but they certainly do need them.
Globalization is a wonderful defence.
Globalization will in time erase sovereignty. I have mixed emotions about that.
