Are there still areas that are completely abandoned?
I like the 3rd pic a lot.
I was down there all last week volunteering with Historic Green. Some good things being done down there. Who you working with?

my mom went down there and helped out last year.
its just crazy how things slip out of our minds so quick.
We are working with Episcopal Community Services of Louisiana. And yea, we already planning on coming down in June after school is out. I am hoping to get more pictures but we are really busy working and doing stuff, barely any downtime.
Good for you. Our government should have had this totally fixed by now, its sad to see that they are pouring money to other countries before the STATE of Louisiana is fixed.
Yea we had a few ‘presentations’ given to us that debunked a lot of the myths. Its pretty fucked up
how much oil is in mainland LA ?
I LOVE New Orleans…heading down the again in 2 weeks:) What area of the city have you been spending your time?
like that street sign with “the line” on it…
i heard there are only like 1 million people left there, the rest left and never came back.
are those houses in the first couple pics even salvageable?
the first two are of the same house and occupied as far as I have noticed, the third one the guy is still saving up to rebuild. both were on each side of the house we are working on and is across the street to the right from the last one.
more pictures in a few. definitely dont have the time I want to explore. I can only meander around where we are that day. the lower 9th ward was incredible though. it really puts life into perspective seeing everything down here.
here are the the rest of the better ones…
the “X” is from when rescuers searched the house; date on the top, agency who found the house on the left, whether they could get inside or not on the right, and number of bodies found on the bottom
