So I decided to change some things on the truck.

wasnt home at all this weekend, however i did get the tubes back that i had custom bent  going to work on that tomorrow night and tuesday night, so i might be putting some holes in the firewall for the tubes going to the front by tuesday

the cage i have is a 14 point sportsman from s&w, however i dont think i want to put all of the tubes in, particularly the “x” for the door bar. has anyone done the x where the front is quite a bit lower so its not so much to step over to get in and out? being a truck its already tighter then getting in and out of a car with longer doors. i have to look in the rulebook some more i think…

How hard was the heated seat install? The butt pad on me legacy stopped working but the back still does. I’m a scared to take it apart.

pretty easy. the seats in the ram had a few screws for the plastic covers on the sides that pop off, then theres 3 plastic pieces that snap onto a metal rail underneath that held theupholstry down on the bottom, pop that off and pull back and theres some hog rings that hold the upholstry down to give that nice look with the grooves. use a good pair of wire cutters to cut those. put new hog rings in with hog ring pliers or channel locks work really well to crimp em if you cant get ahold of the pliers and just reassemble in the opposite order. yours may be different but i cant see it being too different.

started fitting the new tubes for up by the windshield…way happier with how its fitting. much better then the s&w ones. gonna be a long night tonight out there.

most of the cage is done, just need to add the x at rear downtubes, x the doorbars, and add the tubes going to the front frame rails. need to have a custom bend in the one to clear my clutch pedal/clutch master cylinder though hope i can have that done within the next couple days. also got the dash trimmed and fitted with the cage, looking pretty good. tonight im going to work on doing the x for rear tubes and door bars, ill take some pictures tonight.

sigh…no pictures. dads car broke down this afternoon, ended up having to go with to have tow truck pick up and figure out what needs to be fixed. needs a radiator and looks like tensioner pulley. hopefully ill get to the garage soon.

bump.

lol so much for sleeper. looks awesome, really looking forward to the audio clip of it running.

with those bars in the bed of the truck it just looks like it’s absolutely going to have a wheelie bar at some point

Looks awesome. hopefully you never have to remove the bed or the cab from the frame lol.

it is a sleeper! trucks arent fast :stuck_out_tongue:

it will be lifting the front end at some point…dont want to do wheelie bars though

i hope to never have to take the body off lol. next year i will probably end up skinning the front fenders, and i might make a tubular radiator support to shed some weight up front as well. but i need to get this phase done first.

figuring out the steering shaft blows. i have to move it quite a bit from how close it originally was to the head, so im thinking add in a tube off the rollcage to the frame to mount a hiem on to hold the shaft in place by a joint, however then i end up with even less space for header primary clearance, which is why i had to move the steering over and down in the first place. ugh. thankfully im past the point of “why the fuck did i think a big block was a good idea” and now im at the point of “this is rediculous. but man it is going to be bad ass”

welp, this now comes to a hault until spring time since the s10 has to go in the barn for winter…

heres a nice blurry photo of it right before i got pushed in to sleep for a few months…

So you decided to change some things on the truck…like ownership!

 moving onto bigger and better things (COUGH COUGH YOUR OTHER PROJECT)

Whats next?

Yeah, got plans for something else?

Something that floats…

why the sale?

how did you sell it? roller?

^^yeah, sold as roller. guy i sold it to smashed up his drag car at the track so he is putting his drivetrain in this.

as for whats next, some big things in the future but for now just going to work on the ford and my boat. selling the s10 was just a matter of needing to downsize a bit and it made the most sense to me to get rid of this one.
