So I got tired of cleaning sand out of the expedition

What tune did you get? is it warrenty safe? I’ve been looking for something to steer my dad towards that won’t void his warranty. I know Ford has the ProCal Tunes for the new 5.0 mustang but I have not heard of any Ford tunes yet for the new Eco. I love his 2011 FX4. Awesome mileage for a 400hp/tq 5000+lbs truck. And the this shits and gets stock!

lookin good! business must be good

effing hot, love it

Nice looking truck.

What’s with the big flat black square under the mirrors?

Good stuff. Ron Overs class of 2001. I remember playing football with you.

It will be interesting to see what GM will offer for the next gen truck with a boosted v6.

Nice looking truck sack!

Very nice pick up

My uncle gets 7mpg hwy with a GM 6.0 when towing around 7500lbs. 12-14pmg is by no means bad when towing 4500lbs, plus the non-towing mileage is awesome from these. Once towed 5500lbs with a 5.4 for over 20hrs straight and got 12 on the hwy. Even with a small V8 you are often in the 4k plus rpm range when towing a heavy load in a hilly area.

I see what you did there

I have a Silverado with the 5.3 and the active fuel management. I towed my car over 1300 miles on one trip last year including a trailer tire blowout- nursing it 12 miles to a Wal-Mart, downpouring rain, construction zones, and lots of hills. I averaged 15.3mpg for that trip. Typically going to Empire I can get around 16mpg. Tow weight for me is about 4300lbs. The EcoBoost has the power to tow anything, but the mileage will not be as good as a regular V-8. On a dead-flat section of the thruway I can get my truck to go into V-4 mode and get 25-26mpg while pulling the trailer. Granted as soon as the grade climbs or I need to speed up it dips way down. My truck is 2wd which seems to help a lot as well. I get about 1-2mpg better than everyone with the 4wd versions.

Great trucks. I’ve had the pleasure of driving about a dozen of them and I’m always impressed. It will def come down to an FX4 or Tundra next year when I’m ready for a pickup.

That’s awesome, it seems like everybody I know with a 5.3 isn’t getting that great of gas mileage. My one friend has an 08 tahoe and gets like 15mpg all the time, not even towing.

nice truck.

last night at ransomville they had 1 on 1 spectator racing between heats and a guy had a raptor truck there…yeah he got beat by a toyota celica. lol.

I leave my dash display on the “instant mileage” setting. That way I can see when it goes from V-4 to V-8 mode. You can’t hear it when it goes from V-8 down to V-4. There are times when i’m on the thruway and it’s in V-8 mode and i’m going 65mph at 18mpg, I simply let up a TINY bit and it goes into V-4 mode at 24mpg and doesn’t slow down one bit. If you don’t have the dash display you wouldn’t know. Plus guys like Choda drive their trucks like it’s a Corvette.

you mean theres another way to drive a truck? lol

I ended up picking up a Bullydog from the dealership, I was told as long as I bring it back to them no issues with warranty (I know a good amount of people there from the GM down to the sales people). I’m at almost 700 miles now and I love this thing more and more everyday. The black that’s on the side is matte black paint that starts off under the mirrors and goes down the side to the back(matching the rims). If your complaining about gas mileage you should probably buy a ranger with the tune I’m averaging 16.7 so far which to me I think is great I was getting 13 ish with the expedition.
