Now Blown by twins

I wanted to get blown by twins…

and got exactly what I wanted. :wink:

Meet the new daily driver… New F150 FX2 Eco.

Future plans: Chip, cat-less off-road y pipe, exhaust, intake, leveling kit, 34" tires.

Damn you Ford…I have hated this company since I was a kid but between the new Mustang and this truck I am in love. Congrats!

Yup been a GM guy all my life…but this truck rocks!

How fast are these chipped/etc?

whats the towing on theses compared to the 5.4 or whatever they use now?

stock they put down like 315whp/380wtq, handheld tuners get them up to 380whp/450wtq… intake and full exhaust will get you 400whp/475wtq…

1/4 mile stock is like 14.5, prolly low 13s tuned with bolt ons if not 12s…

Mine has the electronic locker 3.55 out back…I might be going to the track tonight…

Mine is rated to tow 11,300lbs. Just got it on lunch haha

^That seems very unlikely. I would say like 15 second 1/4 mile at best stock. Maybe dipping into the 13s with all bolt ons.

Mid 14s look pretty normal.

Its deff not as fast as my wife’s stalled 6.0 Crew Cab but it is close. Depending on how well it reacts with bolts ons and a tune it might be as fast or faster. My first 20 miles are great…gotta love cooled leather seats in Texas.

Nice you just bought the same truck as me only in white, and my buddy just bought a silver. I’m already rocking a bullydog tuner set on the 93 tune, more power at first now after 2k miles feels more sluggish than stock. I’m going to take it in next week to have them take a look at it, dealer installed mods=dealer warranty =)

Edit wheres your awesome screen? The full touch interface on mine is incredble.

No screen its a company truck and it just made budget as it sits. :slight_smile: I just tossed an edge on it and it feels stronger, but I’ll probably end up with a SCT.

hows the shifts with the edge? I’m rocking some pretty hard 2 to 3rd shifts with the bully.

nice, i just picked up a lariat with the EB, in for details

Kind of puss actually i’ll be playing with it more tonight but its set on stage 3 aka kill mode haha

haha i was thinking about programmer, with my luck id blow something up and be fucked

Nice, my dad has a '11 FX4 EB, it rocks for a stock truck

I’m looking forward to positive longevity reports from EB owners.

If I recall the Ecoboost has a higher towing capacity than the 8cyl gas. (but not diesel)

For a good bit of info about the Ecoboost, look at the torture test they put an EB through and then the tear down at SEMA.

edit;
Here ya go.

5.0L V8:

* Horsepower - 360hp @ 5550rpm
* Torque - 380ft/lbs @ 4250rpm
* Max Towing - 10,000lbs

3.5L V6 EcoBoost

* Horsepower - 365hp @ 5000rpm
* Torque - 420ft/lbs @ 2500rpm
* Max Towing - 11,300lbs

…but one real advantage of the EB is going to be at higher altitudes where the engine is still going to make near the same HP as at sea level. Not true with NA engines, as they can lose 25 to 30% of their power on high mountain passes. The torque maximum on the EB also comes on at a MUCH lower RPM than a NA engine — something like 1,700 RPM, the torque is at its peak all the way to redline — that is going to affect the way the truck tows — big time!
And, I also think that when you are not towing (and is that a high % of your total driving or not?), the boost in MPG is going to be very attractive to buyers as well.

These will make silly power once people really tear into them

I plan on doing both of these…

This is my work truck so there will be a lot of miles put on it.

My 2007 Silverado was just retired with 180K on her.

I’m looking into increasing the power out of this bad boy but everyone is a huge pussy with these trucks. Looks like the only things I can actually buy are intake/exhaust/tune.
